Seriously though this is a great idea for numerous reasons.

- Gets fans more involved in the full game day experience
- No choice has to be made between going early and missing the EDF
- Extra revenue from folks partying earlier
- We all have more fun participating in the tailgating and watching together
- Cheap beer is awesome
- It spreads out the intake of fans a bit more which helps with traffic, and will benefit all fans as well as that accessible sporting event co-occurring

Great job, WFC!
Yup! All the above^ :)

Freezing cold lol.  Only suppose to be like -6 out that?s not even cold.

It will probably be -10 to -15 with the windchill.  When you are sitting still and not moving around for 3 - 6 hours, that is very cold actually.  It's not like you are walking around and doing some sort of vigorous activity to warm you up while you are watching a football game.

Ya, I'm sure everyone here already knows, but for those who haven't sat in a minus-temperature football game before, you need to wear more than you would think.  The cement sucks the heat out of your feet and even a 10km wind saps all your core heat after sitting there for 4 hours.

If there's no wind, it'll be about the same temp as the '18 WDF in CGY.  That's not too bad.  If there's a 20-30km wind then it'll start getting cold, especially in 200-level.

I'm hoping for a low-wind game which could be quite pleasant, all things considered, but still cold enough to give the pansy west-coasters fits.

I'm more interested now in getting a picture of what the GC weather will look like.  That will determine the final supply/demand situation for tickets, regardless of who's in it.  Preliminary forecasts look like it could be a moderately cold one.

Old ice fishing trick, a 12" square of rigid blue or pink foam insulation under the butt and under the feet works great to keep body heat from draining away.  People may laugh, but after 2 hours you'll still be warm, they will not.

TLB's foam trick really does work.  That or wear full-bore ice fishing boots.  Luckily if the forecast stays -7 or higher, can probably live without either trick.

As for butt, I'll bring my '18 WSF Riders-provided green seat cushion!  I love using that thing as it puts the Riders right where they belong, under my butt   ;D ;D

I checked with the club, there will be fire pits only if the wind is not whipping around. If not a strong wind there will be fire pits. There will definitely be a warming tent for Ardy though. :D

Not sure I'd be there for the EF viewing even if I could (commitment I cannot politely decline), which is why my 50 yard line, 3 rows up (throw stuff at Donny if you want) tickets are available..  Meds prevent me from drinking antifreeze, and even with heated boots and gloves, that's a long time in cold for an old guy like me.

1980, (OMG, 42 years ago!) in Toronto, I was able to self administer antifreeze freely to ensure warmth.  Toronto weather is milder, and I survived even though we spent the night in a schoolbus after participating in the Sat parade (actual picture of me on that years UofM Engineers handbook on a float with cheerleaders).  A glorious memory from my youth which means I don't have to try to outdo something I'll never top...

But I will be there in spirit...

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

nope it will be rather pleasant tomorrow, for winter. No worries. Good boots, toque and gloves will do the trick along with copious amounts of beer. ;D
