Blue Bombers to Host BC Lions in West Division Final on Sunday

Eastern Final to air on North America's largest mobile screen prior to kickoff

WINNIPEG, MB., November 7, 2022 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will open the Princess Auto tailgate area outside of Gate 2 early prior to the November 13th Western Final and play the Eastern Final on North America's largest mobile screen.

Starting at 11:30 am, fans with tickets to the game will be allowed to enter the Princess Auto tailgate area and watch the Eastern Final on the 22-by-39-foot screen. The televisions in the Coors Light Warming Hut will also play the Eastern Final, so fans needing to warm up won?t miss a minute.

The Fall Princess Auto tailgate area additions of fire pits and warming huts will be available to help fans keep warm as well as the usual tailgate specials of $5 Coors Original and Coors Light as well as $3.50 hot dogs.

The Bombers will face the BC Lions November 13 at 3:30pm, with gates opening at 2:30 pm. The West Division Final winner will advance to the 109th Grey Cup, held Sunday November 20th at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. Tickets to the West Division Final are on sale now.

This is a great idea!  I might just take them up on this!  Bring extra hand/toe warmers and it shouldn't be a problem being outside 7 hours straight.

Are there bathrooms available in the tailgate area?  11:30 until 2:30 gates open is 3 hours, add in a lot of liquid refreshment and... you know.

Serious concern, though: I hope that TV is rated for -10C!  Electronics often don't like below 0.
Never go full Rider!

My guess is that the engineers behind "North America's largest TV screen" probably would have thought about that.

Awesome idea....I am sad I can't make it...but family comes first. The organization has done a very good job with things like this to get fans involved, plus if you arrive 3 hours early traffic shouldn't be an issue 8)

I'm not sure 6 hours in freezing cold would be in the cards for me, even the WDF would be tough for me to sit though.  But, I guess with excellent amounts of antifreeze on board, and if they have big bonfires going, might be an experience.  I'll let you young'uns enjoy...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

They do have fire pits along with warming huts that will have televisions in them.

I checked with the club, there will be fire pits only if the wind is not whipping around. If not a strong wind there will be fire pits. There will definitely be a warming tent for Ardy though. :D

Seriously though this is a great idea for numerous reasons.

- Gets fans more involved in the full game day experience
- No choice has to be made between going early and missing the EDF
- Extra revenue from folks partying earlier
- We all have more fun participating in the tailgating and watching together
- Cheap beer is awesome
- It spreads out the intake of fans a bit more which helps with traffic, and will benefit all fans as well as that accessible sporting event co-occurring

Great job, WFC!
