CFL:

- Nathan Rourke, nothing else comes close.

Bombers:

- Dalton - wow
- The resurgence of the running game after a slow start - I had serious doubts
- The Hamilton loss - grinds my gears that we have a loss on our home record
- Leggs come back after the Montreal game - props to that kid
- Attendance - good on the fans and good on the team for putting on a show in front of full crowds.
My wife is amazing!

Hamilton beat us at the Donut box, Montreal was the only home loss this year. The Kicking gaff game.

Totally right!

Both losses grind my gears then.

Pleasant CFL surprise, was the Rourke results in a short period and Edmontons home losing streak and counting

Emergence of Dalton S., with being such a fabulous performer and the vastly improved Buck P. play calling

Note:  terrible FG attempt decision when coach O'Shea did not have Liegghio punt it thru the end zone to beat the Als in Winnipeg

This is the ultimate hindsight decision. It was a short field goal attempt. Every coach makes the same choice.

Biggest 2022 surprise has to be Rourke by a landslide

Biggest 2022 Bomber surprise has to be the emergence of Dalton Schoen

Biggest league non-player surprise for me Khari being let go as early as he was

I don't know why anyone is shocked by Rourke?  He showed last year, even in his limited playing time, that he probably should've started in front of Reilly.

lol. The Lions team in 2021 and 2022 are different teams.

Reilly played 168 games, threw for 182 TD's 34,805 yards and was being paid about $700K

lol, of course there's no reason to be shocked that a second year Canadian was putting up the best season any QB has ever had.

None at all.

What kind of nonsensical revisionist history is this?

My biggest Bomber surprise is the depth Walters/O?Shea have built.  No team survives the amount of injuries the Bombers have had this season and puts up a 14-2 record in meaningful games.  Yes everyone goes through injuries, but none would do as well as the Bombers this season (re: Sask).  This also includes the replacement of key starters, many whom are Allstars (Harris, Lawler, Desjarlais, Alford, Richardson).  Biggest CFL surprise is the Riders and their fans defense of Marino?s actions.  Not sure why anyone wants an average schmuck on their team whose only skill is to cheap shot and intend to injure another player.  The fact Rider Nation as a majority (probably 95%) still want this bozo on their team is even more of an embarrassment.  As much as I enjoy the crumbling of Rider Nation, it does come as a surprise.

precisely....he shanked it and didn't even have enough velocity to clear the end zone.....which if he had simply missed wide would have gone through the end zone.   The odds of shanking a punt or having it blocked aren't much different than a FG attempt from that close range.
I can't believe we are still even debating this call because it would be called 100% of the time in a similar situation by 100% of the coaches .....and Legghio had been kicking well up until then.   There was no reason to suspect he would flub it that bad.  It was a seriously botched attempt admittedly however the football Gods do come into play at times.
