Pinball can be very persuasive...

MOS played with Pinball, and was coached by him.  No "persuasion" necessary, they know each other well.

That said, I do not think there is any possibility of any CFL team luring away MOS as long as Miller and Waters are here.  No one can pay more (cap) and unless this team falls apart completely, there is no more fun place to play than a place where you have built a culture of winning.  He hasn't put in years of effort just to start al over.

He is 52, in the prime of his coaching life.  Might an NFL opportunity tempt him? He did try to make it on the Lions in 96... but I can't see any NFL team looking to bring him in as a specialist or co-ordinator, when he has shown his strength is as a leader and HC.  Love him, and hope he has the best career he can, and hopefully that means a long term in Winnipeg.

You know what's more persuasive? Winning. Oh, and familiarity. O'Shea gets both here.

What a wretched timeline.

I have a thought that says the East teams, don't really care about the first part of the season.  Losses don't matter, as they all are equally inept. It seems they throw out a garbage product until Lanor Day.  They pick up NFL cuts, and try and make the playoffs.

And as the saying goes, it's not how you start, but how you finish.

If you think Toronto is a hot mess, what about Montreal? Firing Khari was a joke.
Lapo is nothing more than an assistant coach.  He is always looking at his clipboard, where as most other of the coaches, are communicating with their other coaches or players.

Lapo seems to have zero charisma. Does the guy ever have fun?  He probably feeds goldfish for excitement

A lot of these teams have bad recruiting and coaches can only coach what the GM. brings in.
Lastly, head coaches that are offensive coordinator's can't possibly coach the entire team.

Coach O'Shea has become the prototypical CFL coach, after being a prototypical HOF player.

11-1 this year, and most of those games were "found a way to win" games.

LDC was a win where the difference was coaching.  Dickenson's team took bad penalties, bad playcalling late, bad challenge (for a stupid reason, "to make a point", what point?  That his player pushed off and the refs were right?), left with 8 seconds because of the wasted time out on the challenge.

Meanwhile, MOS takes the wind in the 4th, takes a T/O instead of taking a time count, and the team plays a super clean, team game... and the kicker he never lost confidence in nails a 55 yarder easily.

This team has lots of talent, for sure, but these coaches, starting at the top, are getting the best out of them...

Well stated Aards....MOS gets the most out of his players because he treats them like men and his men lead and play for one another as well as the coaches.    It is a rare thing in pro sports these days.....having a MOP QB like Zach doesn't hurt either....who is 28-3 as a Bomber!!   He's up there with other Bomber greats as a coach...IE Bud Grant, Mike Riley and Cal Murphy.

I thought Steinhauer was safe in Hamilton, but man, did they look awful today. Ya having Newman as their Qb hurt them, but overall, I thought they had no energy out on the field, they were just going through the motions, and at home no less!!

DM83

I see Steinhauer resigning
Lapo getting the axe
Machcio already has admitted he is interim

If Jones were smart he?d hire a head coach, and replace his assistants who are duds.

Second half will, see better performances .

Clearly Stenauer is on the bubble now.. I believe LaPo and Jones still have some room. Montreal needs a new HC as well. I believe some people might look at Killam in Calgary as well as Dyce in Ottawa.  I believe Killam will get a shot though but Dyce seems content being a ST coordinator. Same goes for Hall.. he's a fantastic DC but HC isn't his forte

Steinhauer gets a free pass due to QB injury issues, same as Lapo.  You don't go back to back GC appearances by being a bad coach...

Jones too, give the madman enough time and he'll eventually get the Elks playing good football.  He's been around the block 4 times and knows what he's doing, even if nobody else sees it.

O'Shea has 78 regular season wins as a Bomber head coach.  That trails only Bud Grant with 102 and Cal Murphy at 86.

The big question is will O'Shea's statue have shorts or pants.

There are very few coaches around that offer the dedication and commitment to their players and have the ability to bring those players together as a team playing for each other.  Mike O'Shea is one of them.  He has been able to bring in players who believe in his system, who have skills to compete and who, apparently, genuinely appreciate, bond and support their teammates.  You hear that from virtually every player who is interviewed.  I believe Bud Grant and Cal Murphy were coaches who had similar qualities and were able to accomplish success for several Blue Bomber teams.

We are living the dream right now.  Embrace it, support the team and fill the stadium to cheer them on.

Jones is safe because if they fire him, they will have 3 years of interns running the team, as most of their front office $SMS is tied up in one coach/gm.
