What a wild season series between these two teams so far. As much as I don't want to see a playoff series between them, it would be highly entertaining.
Agreed, but I think it?s a series we?d lose.

Hard to say. I think it'd be a seven-game coinflip.

The return of the Winnipeg Whiteout!! Woohoo! What a game this was. Honestly, I hope we don?t face the Preds again. Hoping for a miracle and the wildcard team knocks them out because I don?t think we would beat them. This year at least.

This is going to make spring so fun.  Gotta hope we can get through the first series then worry about the Preds.    Got a chance to go to tonight?s game last minute - it was lots of fun..the dislike between these teams is awesome.

And our kids are learning from this what is going to take to win a Cup.

Kyle Connor has got to be the favourite for this week NHL first star.

Steve Mason is back skating today and Trouba was wearing a contact jersey today.

The Eastern conference scares me.  As good as we are this year, I am anxious to see how we fare in a series against an eastern conference team.  We struggled this year a couple of times against Columbus, lost our only game so far to Toronto 7-2, took 1 game-a-piece against Tampa, and lost our only contest so far against Boston.  Also a team like the Penguins always comes alive during the playoffs.

East doesn?t scare me. My only concern is the Preds; I?m not convinced we can beat them in a 7 game series.

Im not convinced we could beat Tampa, Pittsburgh and a few other Eastern teams in a 7 game series.

The Preds look solid all playoffs last year, and were brought back to reality in the Cup finals against Pittsburgh.  The East is much stronger than the West, IMO.

Statistically, the West is a much stronger conference.

Yes, mostly because the West bad teams, are worse, so the top West teams picks up lots of stats off of our own West bottom feeders.  The East is a better conference, so the wealth is spread around more evenly.

I'm pretty sure that's not right, but I can't find anything to backup my thinking that the West is the much stronger conference. Does anyone have stats on Western teams record versus Eastern teams this season?

Hmmm.... you may be correct after looking at some stats from this year.  So, my bad.

Anyway, I still stand by my initial statement.  Season stats aside, the regular season is usual a non-factor during the playoffs.  The Eastern teams this year look more primed for playoff hockey and I will bet an Eastern team takes the Cup this year.
