While I was hopeful, we could somehow have Jenkins stay on the roster, it wasn't meant to be, at least we have an end in Baily to give Vaughters and Willy a few breathers. I am a bit concerned without a back-up RB, but I guess if Demski can't go Peterson could come on.....

I am worried about the offence, I just don't think it is very good overall, and either with a partial Demski or no Demski, our passing game does not look very good....Zach can't gun sling we don't have the receivers or schemes to even try. Everyone including Mtrl knows this game goes through Brady...it is going to be a slog but please, please, please Hogan do not go away from him for large patches of the game....

Quote from: theaardvark on October 31, 2025, 04:22:30 PMRatio is not just starters, its AR spots.  And listing Lawson as starter on Dline, you know, means nothing.  He will be on field for run plays, Woods comes in for pass plays.  You can't designate a player position as "rotation", Thomas/Woods per se.

Depending on the game calling by the Als, and the situations, Woods may get double the snaps Thomas gets, as the "backup".  And listing him as an extra Nat starter give flexibility to the roster.

With 9 NAT starters, any 2 of them can be out on any play and still not affect ratio.  But once we go with one or two less NATS on one side of the ball, the other side of the ball must maintain the projected number of NATS, so I can see each side dropping one Nats for certain plays.

What are you talking about? None of this makes sense.  Look at the depth charts. We are still dressing the maximum 19 Americans we're just choosing to start less of them than Montreal. You DO have to declare how many Canadians are on each side of the ball and that DOES have to be maintained all game regardless of injury. Lawson Jr. Is not starting at DE. You didn't even bother to read.

I am expecting a carbon copy of the same gameplans and execution we have trotted out...we won some games with it but MOS doesn't strike me as a HC who would be challenging his coordinators to come up with anything new...we have the gameplan and our "system" so just execute on the plays that are called.

We are vanilla on offense and on defense apparently it is so complex guys have a hard time learning it...

This game will be won or lost on the backs of Collaros, Castillo and our secondary

Quote from: theaardvark on October 31, 2025, 04:23:12 PMWe got outbid for Ford and Dobson.  Fox wasn't offered a contract.
yeah but you look at other teams that players want to resign with, and they don't even go to free agency because their gm is proactive and they are happy where they are. Mtrl is a great example of this. most of their key guys are locked up already for the next two years. Mack, Snead and Johnson would have recieved higher offers (ie look at what Edm payed for Smith Ceresna and Brinkman)

Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on October 31, 2025, 03:23:03 PMI thought they might go with Bailey over Jenkins just because he has a better understanding of the playbook, rushing the QB is important but containing him is a high priority in Younger's defence, thus the low overall sack numbers.

As for Demski, why bother, play it straight.

Bailey is a global player so it wasn't directly an either or choice. He effectively replaces a Canadian choice. Jenkins would have to replace an import. Last week that was Person.
One game at a time.

If you start 9 NATs, you can drop to 7 at any time, but once you drop on either side of the ball, you have to maintain that level for the rest of the game.

"Starting" Woods over Thomas makes zero difference.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Quote from: Pete on October 31, 2025, 04:21:39 PMhow about ford, Dobson. Garbutt, even Fox. As for Munier playing he isn't replacing a vet but another rookie in Person.

Ford and Dobson were starters here who left for their pay days.

Garbutt and Fox are talents? Did they leave or did we let them walk because they couldn't play their way onto the roster?

That's not even remotely true.

The Alouettes operate within the same SMS parameters as every other team.

It's going to be a long off-season.

That's a possibility but i think in this case Bailey is directly replacing Persons, if they wanted to create a ratio advantage they could have dressed Adams in addition to Woods at DT.  Up until this year they've always dressed 4 DT's, this year they dropped down to 3.

I am a little surprised we are sitting out Griffin. I would say that probably means Griffin still isn't 100%.

Peterson is a surprise. However, the Bombers finally gave MCI25 the ball last week and he showed his power and speed. With 3/67 yards.

Corcoran ahead of Clercius. I don't think Clercius is 100%.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

That's not true. You declare how many Canadians are starters on each side of the ball it must equal a minimum of 7.

You then have to maintain that for the entire game. So if we declare three starters on defense, Thomas, Lawson and Kramdi, three spots will be filled with nationals ALL game long regardless of if those three get hurt, get benched, etc. it can be any three. But it's still three. We cannot go: Kramdi is hurt were only going two nationals on defense now.

That's literally been the hallmark of our team for years.

What point are you even trying to make anymore?

that we need to change, cause what were doing is no longer providing the same results
