Blue In BC

I have no idea whether he'll make the roster but he has been in our TC for the last couple of years. The fact he has QB experience is always interesting for a conversion to receiver. He's no Sinopoli or Vince Danielson but it's still an applicable concept.

No I'm not suggesting he has much of a chance to be used / listed as a QB. OTOH, we've seen in the past in all leagues where that skill set might be used as a trick play with that player running through the back field.

You only have to do it once in pre season or early season to plant the seed in opponents preparation. lol

Sir Blue and Gold

Getting cut early in Edmonton isn't a good sign. Reading between the lines I think they're familiar with him and like him as a person and so he gets a shot here. I really can't imagine how he could crack the roster given the actual Canadian receivers in front of him. I guess it's just if they see enough to warrant a longer development on the PR. One of those, just because he's Canadian and from here type calls. I wouldn't. But whatever.

Blue In BC

It was a bit of a surprise they brought him in but who knows if there is some sort of development plan for him on the PR.

I feel like he's training camp fodder. We've had a few receivers miss time already. Need to keep the bodies rotating.

Public relations, the Bombers do what they can to pump up their ties with the Bisons and the Rifles, before inevitably cutting them loose after TC. I guess they have a few Rifles hanging around this week but haven't heard them mentioned.

Does he have more value if we're starting Elgersma in '27?  Might we convert him back to QB, or have him a dual-threat guy, like Loxley?  If we're eyeing NAT QB starter in '27, then having this guy on the PR won't hurt one bit, eh?
Never go full Johnston!

I don't think there's any chance of that happening. He's practicing special teams for us.

If in the event we are starting Elgersma and he is injured, you flip the ratio somewhere else.

Sir Blue and Gold

Lol funny enough, he becomes less valuable if we're starting Elgersma.

Blue In BC

I've never met the kid and don't think I've ever seen him play. OTOH there must be something the team likes to have him attend his 3rd TC. He might be a player that ends up on the PR as injury insurance.

Either way it's a good experience for a local player from the Bisons.

Or maybe they knew that Thorne and Wilson were going to quit, and needed another arm in camp?
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

He's not another arm. He's a receiver/ST body.

He was an arm in the previous 2 camps with the Bombers.

It seems kind of silly to be discussing this, imo. He was previously here because we had to have him there. That's not why he was brought to this camp.

We'll likely fly in a PR candidate QB at some point. Or a vet if Perkins really stinks it up.
