Anyway, far better game than I expected.  Now it's time to make a massive overhaul

Hmm, and yet refs never ever announce IG when CFL people spike the ball.  Weird.  But you're right, I guess it would be LOD and spot at point of foul.  Doesn't it have worse implications in the final 3 mins though?  I thought IG changed a bit in last 3 mins.

I'd probably have to go back to those couple of games where it was done and see how the game-tracker stat'd the play.

Quote from: BlueInCgy on November 07, 2026, 10:19:02 PMKeep Singer, Vaval, Williams, Perkins, Kramdi.  Everyone else is on the block.

You're leaving a lot of very good players off your list. Oliviera, Broxton, O.Wilson, White, Fletcher, Reese to name a few.

OTOH I mentioned earlier that any and all trades should be considered including the best RB in the league. The trades don't have to be made but you have to listen to what is offered.

Soon, we'll see who are the potential free agents. Some decisions will be made by the players on whether to return.

As that all develops there will certainly be some blood letting across the roster.

Time count in the final 3 minutes is loss of down. I can't remember an intentional grounding in the aspect of saving time and giving up a down.

I'm hoping for BC.  Rourke and Alexander duel..I'd love that. I'd also love to see Rourke beat Alexander..he's much classier.  Although as long as Alexander loses, I'd be ok.

It's going to be a long off season. I wonder how soon we might make some big decisions. The 1st one being do we want Collaros back. I've already said we need to move past him as a # 1 QB regardless of whether we have a better option.

We may have to play through a development curve for a new QB.

Either way, I need to see management not sitting on their hands.

That's another way of looking at a spike I guess, and it would have helped just as well here. But I will say that an Intentional Grounding call requires that the referee feels the throw to the ground was to avoid a loss of yardage. A spike doesn't fall into that category.

Well, overall a bit of a bummer.  So close.  Have them on the ropes.  Then boom, big anti-climax.  It seemed MTL knew exactly what play we had drawn up on that fumble.  Was it another Demski corner route?

Do we feel better after a close winnable game, or would it have been better to get blown out by 50 all game long?  It's always tough to tell.

One thing's for sure though, those who want a huge blow up are going to be let down by us going very deep in the playoffs.  Heck, Mafia has massive cover to keep so much status quo.  They could keep Condell, Younger, Zach, many hoggies, many ageing players...  Not saying I agree/disagree, but the heat won't be as intense as it was looking 2.5 weeks ago!

Yeah, i don't even know if if watch a Grey Cup between Faj and Alexander.

Talk about a douche vs. a turd sandwich

He was just on CJOB...they wanted to ask if it was his last game and he didn't want to discuss it tonight. Emotionally probably hard enough tonight, but it may have been. He does have a family, and I wouldn't blame the guy.  He's had a tough couple of years and needs to think of his future.  i don't know who I'd want for our QB though since we wouldn't have a legit good starter. Scary.  Thinks of Alex Brink and Joey Elliott years...yikes.  :-\

Not winning a close game doesn't feel better unless you played a fairly good game overall. That can't be said in this game and many others we lost by close scores.

Beyond that, for the most part we're boring to watch. It's not entertaining for long stretches.

I saw 1 wrinkle on offence and that was a play with MCI. Is that the only new thing we could do.  What's the point of having a TE if he is only used as a part time blocker?

I agree we may see a lot of status quo again. Many of the posters spoke about that as a problem before the start of this season. The problems were known and we tried to squeeze one more season out of a few players that should have been replaced.

Our season win /loss record has gone from 11, to 10, to 9. We're on track for an 8 win season but will make the playoff because 8 teams get in.

I like Faj...I'd want the Elks to kill Alexander. I really like Killam's energy.

I like Rourke more, he is easy to cheer for.  I wish we could lure him here ,but probably never. Private ownership, good entertainment there, they have it good in Vancouver.

Get ready for another squeeze to get that final drop out of the 2019-core orange.

I appreciate him as a person and what he's contributed. Like any player there comes a time to move on whether you have a replacement of not. How do you develop the next guy if status quo is maintained.

In the case for Collaros, there is the further risk to his short and long term health. He barely played half the season.
