Zach is probably banged up with neck and head.  But that doesnt stop Oshea from starting him

Thats ok, but if he sucks right off bat put Dru in.

I would play both of them. Mix it up randomly.

Dru can hit the quick 2nd and medium quick hits better

Zach can scramble better.

Theres potential to have a more dynamic attack with both.

But i bet Oshea just hooks his anchor to Zach for the whole game.

Sir Blue and Gold

Can Zach even make it through a professional playoff game? How many starts has he been knocked out of this year? Half of them?

The only shot we have is Brown getting hot. Collaros was going to lose the freaking game to the backups.

Just because you want something to be different doesn't mean it is.

Zach is done. He was done a year or two ago. He's certainly done now. If we made smarter decisions with our personnel over the last couple years we'd have won more games.

Does it matter if we cross over or not to this question? Or do we think both will play the same vs any team?

Throw Long Bannatyne

Dru Brown took the reps at practice today, if Zach was there at all he wasn't in uniform.

they say ribs for Zach.  2 practices he's missed now.

I was going to say start Zach but short leash. Dru looks good off the bench. But I think our hand is forced. I don't want another "finger stitched up" game where it's over before MOS does anything else if he ever does. Has to be Dru.

Neither are great QB's, but only one of them can take a couple of hits and get back up.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

Blue In BC

A critical game and critical decision. Realistically I think Collaros ends up on the IR and Elgersma is activated.

That result could spell the end of Collaros in 2027. If Brown plays poorly it could also spell the end for him in 2027.

It would be an unfortunate way to end time in Winnipeg.

I think either QB can potentially beat the  Argos if our defence shows up for more than 1 quarter. We haven't seemed to be able to play well for most of an entire game. It's now or never.

When Zach doesn't practice day one, he doesn't start, so I guess that question is answered.

The question becomes, does Zach dress?  If he does, where on the DC is he?  Is Perkins SY/#2, and Zach an only in emergency #3?

Or do they let a Zach who isn't healthy enough to start take the #2 role?

In either case, with the season on the line, how long is Dru's leash?  Zach's was obviously far too long last game.  Can we learn from this?  It was only an illegal RTP hit that saved our season from MOS letting Zach waste a great D effort.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Recent history tells us that if Zach isn't practicing, he is incapable of playing.

MOS history tells us he'll trot out his guys in the play-offs/Grey Cup on one leg without practicing becaus ethey deserve the shot.

Honestly, last week notwithstanding, neither QB has looked better than the other at any point over the season. But, as TBurg said, only one can take a hit and keep on playing.

Given how our season has gone, we need to go high risk/reward. And even though I think Brown has a low floor, if he's getting the ball out quick he may have the highest ceiling right now.
My wife is amazing!

Yeah, I don't see how anyone can dig their feet in the sand and push too hard one way or another on this. Neither are particularly good.

With Zach you have the experience, but you have the injury possibility (probability). With Dru you have largely underachievement/non-starting QB performance but also have the potential for a showing like we saw in the BC second half. Oh, and yeah, the greater probability of actually finishing the game.

I would be extremely happy if we started Zach and he showed his 2022ish form and finished the game. I would also be extremely happy if we started Dru and he played 60 minutes like he did in the last game. Neither of those scenarios are realistic, unfortunately.

What I am wondering is if million dollar Kelly is going to be showing the world he deserves his new contract. We are seriously out gunned at the QB position no matter what we do. It would be nice to win the turn over battle, that would give us a chance.
