You roll with Zach until the dynasty is over.  Period.

However, and this will never happen, if Zach has a 1st half like today, you yank him for a few series for Dru.  Don't tell Dru this is an option... he plays better thinking he's the backup and won't play, and when he gets B-team reps in practice.

We have to be willing to yank Zach when he's not seeing it!!

Dru has not been as good as Zach this season, unfortunately. Him shredding some no names doesn't change that.

No-names trying to play way off the REC in prevent-D just trying not to get hurt in the 4th Q before their big playoff game.

Plus, I think Rourke & Lions want revenge on us for the times we whipped their butts in the post-season, eliminating them, and making Rourke cry.

Zach did nothing against the no names bad passes , bad decisions start Brown. Besides Zach is done too many injuries and lacks arm strength. He made bad decisions last week against the elks. I love what he did in the past but we have to move on. We are in tough to win the grey cup, let's see what Brown does. We made the playoffs , thank God.

This is a dumb take.  He couldn't even compete with a 2nd stringer BC defence.

We all bashed & joked about BC's "B-team" tonight, but to be honest BC started 90% of their starting D.  They probably switched to the backups (where available) pretty quickly, ya, but even those were the normal backups, not the PR squad.

Zach was basically throwing against their normal D in H1.  Dru was having it easier when the front 7 were backups.  Betts didn't do much then, for instance, and Cherry being in shows the real starter Burke was out, etc.

He also doesnt have a 4 interception game on his resume this season. Brown hasnt been good this year.

Elgersma is not going to cut it IMO, he isn't a CFL QB. He has a great attitude and work ethic but he is not a Nathan Rourke. His time in the NFL was what he wanted. He missed a year of experience he could if had in the CFL.

Collaros is done he is a great quarterback but father time is undefeated!! God bless him he is a true CFL player who loves our league and represents it well!!

So if Zach was playing against their '90% D' and did nothing why would we want to start him in the playoff matchup?

a) Zach knows the playoffs better than anyone

b) Dru will throw 4 INTs.  Nothing + hopefully 0 INTs has a better chance of winning than some points + 4 INTs (IMHO).

I still think Zach gives us our best shot, but with a willingness to have him sit 2-3 series if he stinks for 4-5 drives straight.  Get off the field and try to figure out what's not working rather than keep hitting the screw with a hammer.

How quickly everyone forgets how disgusted we all were with Dru after his last few starts where he royally stunk the joint out.

It just dawned on me why we spent so much for Dru and clearly wanted him here for the run this season, even though he's kind of a proven loser in OTT:

2024 GC

If we have Dru in the '24 GC, we likely leave him in (we put Wilson in but yanked him), OR we put Zach back for 1-2 series and put Dru in after the 1st or 2nd INT.

If Dru's there we don't sit there and let a clearly rekt Zach throw INTs all night.  You put in Dru.

This could happen in the WSF, WDF, or GC (ya, I'm dreaming).  And we all know that Dru is pretty darn stellar when coming in late.  Someone look up his record in late relief in WPG, it's over .500, I know that much!  Probably over .750.

Not sure it why it took me so long to figure this out.  This must have been the main thing on their mind -- NOT that he's the heir or anything like that.
