Nope. Because he gave up 935 on the ground this week vs EDM when everyone knew they were going to run. And he'll give up new CFL records on the ground vs BC next week with running Salter and Horvath. It will be so disgusting that the media and fans will never drop it.

Younger is done because the idea is broken. Unless he convinces MOS he has a new idea for next year... But when your whole life's work philosophy and paradigm is laid bare as faulty for the whole world to see, I don't see how you can possibly recover.

I wouldn't either. That's not a good practice if you want people to come work for you.

He can throw Younger under the bus. It's not like he'd be making great revelations if he told the world that Younger's schemes are flawed and suck and cannot possibly work. So first clear it with KW that Younger is gonzo (board probably already passed the word down anyhow), and just say it after BC gets 435Y on the ground vs us next week.

It would be cathartic for everyone.

We'd all like him back but I don't know we want to pay another player $300K. We found Singer. If necessary find another rising star on an ELC.

Exactly, take advantage of the cost savings found in Singer and move on if White asks for too much. He's good, but so are plenty of other receivers in the league and signing them at the market price is not that difficult. Both the Argos and the Elks have a boatload of good receivers and they won't be able to retain them all.

Singer, Pokey and Demski have shown the ability to make difficult catches in 3-D space which is not something White has demonstrated he can do. Not saying he is a bad receiver at all but he lacks ability to make spectacular catches, as do many other receivers found throughout the league.

I never subscribed to over-over paying for the best of the best, neither Lawler of Gino earned their big contracts once they signed them.

We need to obtain some of our guys. Players like Clercius who haven't been used much need to be let go and let White and Singer play and we can afford them with the rising CBA. I'm betting Nield will also not be here next year.

Not all of our players are 1000 yard receivers..keep the ones who can make the plays. I don't think he'll cost 300k. Maybe 240

We won't know how much the SMS goes but it's almost irrelevant anyway. Who is available in free agency and at what cost?

Do our scouts find that next rising star? It doesn't have to be at receiver but that's as good a place I suppose.

Obviously we know that White is a quality player and I'd expect we'll try to retain him but SMS comes into play.

OTOH if we choose to part ways with Collaros and Brown, will it matter that we retain a quality receiver? The opposite of that is what if we make a hard play for Kelly as our QB?

I don't expect Kelly to be here, but I'm not sure what we do with our 2 QB's. SMS will really come into those decisions.

Nationals have to be replaced by better Nationals, you can't just throw them out the door and replace them with more Americans.

Eric Deslauriers is the Senior Director of Player Personnel, he has deep ties to Quebec and the Als having played for them for 9 seasons followed by 8 years of admin. and scouting for the team.

I want to see this guy's report card, there are Quebec born players all over the CFL, but little evidence he's had a positive effect bringing any of them to Wpg.

No. I think the rec churn over the last 3 seasons is hurting us. White comes in here with pretty low expectations, possibly washed up, and instantly outperforms and becomes our TD king. And so we want to reward him by saying bye?

He literally did everything asked of him and more. And I for one really like the guy. He's smart, articulate, biggest pro on the team, no nonsense, not arrogant. He's everything mafia would want.

Let's have some consistency for once. Pay the guy a reasonable amount and hope he decides to stay while we're worst in the west. And then thank him.

I'd sign him to 2 years, up to 280k.

Very few people thought he was washed up. He been a 1000 yard receiver for the last 5 years. He also isn't our TD king. Wilson 8 in 2 less games, White 6, Demski 5, Singer 2 in 6 games. I believe White will ask for a bump in pay but no where near $300K. $250 Max.

He will be $300k because of the SMS increases, whether realized or anticipated.

If Pokey has more TDs, it's only because of the home runs, which is his raison d'etre. White is also valuable in the possession game, which is remarkable for his stature.

I would prefer to see Pokey, White, Singer all back, with aging Demski and probably a new quality NAT (though I suspect we keep Nield). It's not so much which of these guys is better/best, it's that the whole corps is finally gelling and getting to be of decent quality. If only the QB/OL situation wasn't letting them down all the time...

And as for "washed up", I meant he's on the downside of his career and no one else wanted to pay him what he wanted to be paid. Think Ellingson when he signed here. Guys you would not be surprised to come and NOT have a 1000Y season.
