Quote from: TBURGESS on Today at 03:10:37 PMI think Brady is more injured than they are letting on.

I do as well. I also may think Brady may not admit it, as he doesn't get paid as much on the IR.  Something to think about.

Quote from: markf on Today at 03:11:16 PMI don't listen to many O'Shea interviews.

Does he ever acknowledge that coaching came up short?

Saying they have to execute better seems to be blaming the players.

Also probably at this point there are some divisions on the team. They're all going to be in self preservation mode.

I don't think it's his style to do that in public/the media.

I wouldn't either. That's not a good practice if you want people to come work for you.

Quote from: Pigskin on Today at 05:41:49 PMI believe any player drafted in 2025, we have a third year option on those players. I believe the Bomber will pickup the option on most of them. A guy like Smith will probably get a three year extension with a nice bump in pay.

We've been good at re-signing our own players that we want to retain. In the world of 1 year deals I don't know if Smith signs a new 3 year deal. I'm all for it with an increase scaled giving him more each season.

A couple of Canadian players are on the PR so they may not be returning.

Overall it's a question of how much more do the retained players earn versus we accommodate that across the rest of roster SMS.

Speculation of another SMS increase as well which helps to cover some of the increases in theory.

Signing Smith to a multi year extension should be at the top of the priority list.

Wow, lots of frustration to go around. Our defense needs a Coordinator, Safety and MLB. Our offense needs an offenive line that can block. We need to upgrade our NAT talent to get impact players vs average joe's.

Yes.  And a forward thinking, multi-faceted, trick play inserting OC please.

Our O line is so bad, it doesn't matter who our OC is, we can't execute it. Spend the money on some decent hoggies vs say a middling NAT reciever would be a massive step in the right direction.

Pete

Quote from: Blue In BC on Today at 03:48:07 PMIt was discussed going into TC that we weren't sure why he was re-signed or whether he'd end up as a starter or a DI. Once JSK got injured in TC, that changed.

I get that he's been a long term and productive player but it was time to move on IMO.

Edm ran all over us and Wilson makes 1 tackle.
This is on our coaches
We added 3 rookie of the year candidates in Fletcher Singer.& Williams. The free agent additions of White , Broxton, Ceresna, have been positive. Yet we have so many holes cause we refuse to acknowledge father time.

Wilson should have been gone last year, and we had a chance to sign Sankey or McInnes but decided Wilson was it. Bad call, horrible call. We also need a safety, so our defense is weak down the middle of the field, that ain't good!!

I've heard Bill Belichick say "I have to coach better" after a loss.

Also, Mike seems to be saying the players are at fault "execute better"

I predict Jordan Younger will be the defensive coordinator next season.

MOS has repeatedly said, ya, not good enough, need to execute better, we got beat on 5 or 6 plays, which is a polite way of saying the players have got to pick it up. He'll never come out and slag his players publically but he does state the obvious, they aren't good enough.

I know, but maybe he could admit he could do better.

Not important. Just annoying.

He has after games on the radio interviews sometimes.  Not after every game but a few times he has.  So has Zach..so have other players.

He does, I don't think he spares the rod on coaches, he uses the proverbial 'we' have to be better and I think he means the coaches as well. MOS is all about team, he ll never point fingers at individual players or coaches, but when there is a weakness in a game, he admits it and says ya, we need to be better. I d rather have a guy calling everyone out like that than saying our DC sucks, our MLB stinks, etc etc. There's no point in negativity, just point out the obvious--We just need to be better.
