I think he'll be playing in the cup limping around just the same as last year.  And Maas will refuse to take him out once again.

I worry for his long term health.  It's too bad really, as he's really good for the league, and we need 6 more QBs like him.  This is the quality of QB the CFL should be aiming to steal away from the NFL.

I am not worried about his long term health, not anymore than any other QB.

He has already admitted his hamstring is likely chronic but he has methods to deal with it. I assume he means stretching and mobility exercises. Hits don't give a pulled hamstring. The cause:  sprinting, jumping, kicking or making a sudden change in direction.

Another question Lapo kind of brought up in the game, he said Philpot is his MOP. Surely it is going to be Alexander? Curious what others here think. On the one hand Philpot is having a season for the ages but Alexander's record is jaw dropping. Granted that extends over a couple years not just this one.

Then teams shouldn't hit him, they should just get him running a lot, maybe followed by an awkward for tackle.  :D

And the dealing-with-it methods only work until they don't. Like last year...

Has Alexander broken records? Philpot is. Is Alexander even the yards or td leader this year? To me, Philpot gives more wow factor.

But... Because Philpot is Canadian and a lock for best nat, it gives the voters an easy out by splitting the difference and giving him just the moc. That lets them give Alexander MVP and everyone is happy.

I actually hate giving both to one guy, and have suggested since AH33 won both in the gc that MVP should be renamed MVI... With I being import. Yes, I know gc is distinct from the season awards, but my point applies to both.

I just really hope they don't put up Brady against Philpot, as it won't even be close.

Alexander should win. QB's run the engine for the team on offence. Philpot is having an outstanding season regardless of his nationality.

I think it will be Alexander because he's the QB - but I really hate that QBs tend to over-represent these awards. An excellent RB/WR season should win over a mid-QB season, but that's not often how it works.

I would vote for Philpot. Alexander is the best QB, but he's not heads and shoulders above what Harris and Kelly are statistically. Philpot is in his own category in receiving.

Philpot is having a season of the ages, likely never to be seen again, he is by far and away the most outstanding player this year hands down. As good as Alexander is, I think if Philipot played on the BC Lions, Nathan Rourke would be feeding him the ball and he'd be having just as an outstanding season as he s having now. My vote goes to Philipot hands down. The fact that Philipot is a NAT shouldn't be used to give this award to someone else because he'll win the Most Outstanding Canadian, if the Most Outstanding Player is a Canadian, I see no reason he shouldn't get both awards, as he's simply the best player period, the Most Outstanding Canadian is a separate award and he should win that one too, and good for him!!

It would be difficult to argue against Philpot. OTOH I'd argue that Alexander is a lot better than Harris or Kelly. He isn't the turnover machine that Kelly has been and he's a better athlete that can run when needed.

For what it's worth Alexander was asked this directly by Kate after the game as the panel was in stadium. He played team guy and said just give it to Philpot.

Kate: Alexander
Milt: Philpot
Henoc: Philpot

3 to 1 Philpot there. Starting to think Philpot has a shot especially if he can break the most yards in a season mark.

Alexander has the longest streak with no intercepts, broke that early this year. And he has his won/loss record which I think also has not been done.  Too bad one has to lose.

I do wonder though since the coronation of Montreal seems complete with multiple awards and an assumed  Grey Cup win, will they be ripe for the picking when the time comes? Three more meaningless weeks and the easier final opponent. As the cliche goes a lot of football left to be played.

Rourke, the only shot the Bombers have is Major Williams for rookie.

Should Milt have received the MOP in 2002 or should it have gone to Khari?

DA will always mean Darvin Adams, but I'd be ok with him winning an award!

Agree Alexander deserves an award for the 2 exceptional seasons he's put in, without Alexander, Philpot becomes his brother.

Blueforlife

The name abbreviations used by some are confusing.  Unless it's oblivious, using the name is better.  I loved Adams!  Alexander and Philpot both deserve it, I would go with the latter.

So a receiver can't win the award ever? There's no way for them to be the best player?

Because just make a separate QB award if that's the case.
