Rather than call every game, going forward, important and a must win, we'll simply call Friday's game important and a must win game!

Zach Collaros will be a definite non-starter against Toronto with Dru Brown drawing in at quarterback.  There is no lack of confidence in Brown by his team mates and his continued experience running the offence can only help him.

Read Tony Jones assessment of his "We-fence" in the current issue of Ed Tait's 48-Hour Primer.... https://bluebombers.com/article/48-hour-primer-week-17-vs-toronto.

Again, apart from the holes left by Zach Collaros and Michael Griffin injuries, the Bombers go into the game in a relatively healthy condition.

There should be another huge crowd at PAS so, as always, if you can, be there loud and proud!

Go Bombers!

Winnipeg Blue Bombers place Zach Collaros on six-game injured list
by John Hodge  September 24, 2026

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have placed Zach Collaros on the six-game injured list. The team issued an updated depth chart and roster list on Thursday morning.

According to the team's official injury report, the veteran quarterback is dealing with a head injury. He was a non-participant in practice this week.

The 38-year-old has gone 5-4 as a starter this season, completing 70.6 percent of his passes for 2,204 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Being placed on the six-game injured list does not guarantee that a player will miss that many games, as they can be activated early.

When Collaros missed time earlier this season, he was initially placed on the one-game injured list before being subsequently moved to the six-game injured list. The native of Steubenville, Ohio ended up sitting out a total of four games.

Over 181 career regular-season CFL games, Collaros has completed 68.1 percent of his passes for 38,187 yards, 227 touchdowns, and 123 interceptions, and rushed 274 times for 1,506 yards and 11 scores. He is a three-time Grey Cup champion and two-time CFL Most Outstanding Player.

Dru Brown will start at quarterback against the Toronto Argonauts on Friday night. The 29-year-old made four starts in place of Collaros earlier this season, going 2-2, including a win over Toronto.

The five-foot-eleven, 200-pound passer has completed 70.2 percent of his passes for 1,148 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions this year.

Over 77 career regular-season CFL games, Brown has completed 68.7 percent of his passes for 8,980 yards, 51 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions.

With Collaros out of the lineup, the Blue Bombers have moved Canadian quarterback Taylor Elgersma from the reserve roster to the active roster. He is listed as the third-string quarterback.

Winnipeg has not made any other changes to its depth chart from the Banjo Bowl. The team is 1-0 against the Argonauts this season, having won 30-21 at Princess Auto Stadium in July.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7-6) will host the Toronto Argonauts (8-6) on Friday, September 25 with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EDT. The Blue Bombers were on bye last week, while the Argonauts upset the Edmonton Elks by a score of 24-19.

The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on TSN 1050 in Toronto or 680 CJOB in Winnipeg.

Makai Polk returns for Toronto Argonauts against Winnipeg
by 3Down Staff  September 24, 2026

The Toronto Argonauts will have Makai Polk back in the lineup when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday night. The team released its official depth chart on Thursday morning.

The six-foot-three, 197-pound target missed Toronto's last six games due to a foot injury. Over eight regular-season games to start the year, he caught 37 passes for 571 yards and six touchdowns.

The 25-year-old is in his third season with the Double Blue. Over 32 career regular-season CFL games, he has made 128 receptions for 1,951 yards and 13 scores.

Polk will start at boundary slotback, pushing standout rookie Tyler Kahmann to field-side slotback. Dymere Miller, who started last week, has been moved to the reserve roster.

The Argonauts have also made a change at field-side cornerback, as Tarvarus McFadden has been placed on the six-game injured list due to a hand injury.

The six-foot-two, 198-pound defender has tallied 30 defensive tackles, seven pass knockdowns, one fumble recovery, and three interceptions this season, one of which helped seal last week's win over Edmonton.

Louis-Philippe Gauthie
r is listed as the starter in his place. The Université de Montréal product was a third-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft. This will be his first professional start.

The six-foot-one, 198-pound defender was named an RSEQ all-star last season, and won the forty-yard dash at the 2026 CFL Combine with a time of 4.50 seconds.

Canadian receiver Nolan Ulm has returned from a foot injury and will dress in a depth role, while American running back Samuel Hicks and American defensive back Dathan Hickey have also been added to the active roster.

In corresponding moves, Canadian receiver Tristan Ready and American running back Qualan Jones have been placed on the practice roster.

The Toronto Argonauts (8-6) will visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7-6) on Friday, September 25 with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

Blue In BC

Interesting that Perkins is listed as the # 2 QB. Depth charts can be misleading but I found that surprising.

I don't think we can afford to lose this game. Potential roster changes for next week could become moot.
One game at a time

7LBs, 8 DBs, 8 DTs. Weather looks good for tomorrow.

Interesting but not surprising to me. Based on admittedly limited observation, if Dru goes down, I trust B-Perk more than Gerz.

He will still be our short yardage QB of course.

Strength-wise, I feel like we're pretty well matched with Toronto. I think this one will be close and I hope that the home crowd shows up and gives us that extra advantage that I think we will need.

So easy to hate the douchy Argos. I hope we cream them

All comes down to how well Brown plays and the type of game Condell calls for him.  I have a feeling the Bombers will try to keep this a low scoring affair with FG's being the difference, the Argos may not want to cooperate with that game plan.
