so with mb not changing out clocks this fall - does that mean sports will start later?  so NFL games will start at 1:00 instead of noon our time?  SNF will start at 8:30 and not be done till 11:30 or later.

Correct. I don't think most people thought about these kinds of things when they considered the DST question.

I lived on eastern time for a while about a decade ago and for any live event, it was annoying how everything began so late. In 2015 the Jets played the Ducks in the playoffs and I recall a game starting at 10:30 pm (7:30 PDT) on a Monday. It went to OT so it didn't end until nearly 2 am. This will be true now here in the middle of the country which used to have ideal start times, as things were scheduled as late as reasonable on the east coast so that you could also capture people out west 3 hours earlier to an extent, but we won't realize that benefit in the winter months anymore unfortunately. Unless Ontario and the US eastern seaboard ends DST for themselves also.
