Throw Long Bannatyne

Quote from: Jesse on September 06, 2026, 04:44:07 PMI'd imagine Zach is gonna lean on White, Wilson, and Neild for the bulk of his passing volume.

But let's see if they scheme up a deep shot or two for the kid.

Good game to surprise everyone by using Clercius as the hot route over the middle. Nield could do the same but Zach tends to target him further downfield. Can't be throwing any pick 6's this game so those long lazy throws to the far sideline are verboten.

It's also been storming all day in Regina so the real answer could be 25 carries for Brady.

My wife is amazing!

I think the Riders #1,2 and 3 priorities will be stopping Brady by stacking the box. We may have to use play action and RPO combined with some wide receiver screens to widen the defence, as well as some crossing routes and slants to take advantage of the LBs cheating towards the line of scrimmage. It may be a case of having to establish the short passing game to open up the run game. Some Pokey sweeps might help as well.

Our game plan always is having success with our run game to create a balanced offence. Every team will try to shut Brady down. Bad weather makes the running game more difficult.

Brady has been playing angry for the past few games and I suspect that will be true today as well. Big game coming.

Wet field, footing will be an issue, running game could struggle

Struggle?? It was non existent. What did Brady have 25 yds rushing?,.

Brady wasn't able to sneak out of the backfield, on almost every play he was protecting his QB.

If he was trying to get out for a screen or dump and ssk is stopping him with more than a chip, that's dpi if Zach throws his way. Precedent on this was set a couple of seasons ago. Doesn't matter if it all occurs behind the los.
Never go full Johnston!

I don't think that is correct behind the LOS.

Not unexpectedly the Riders stuffed our run game. It didn't appear that Brady was suffering from the injury issue. The Riders just game planned to take that away.

It is. Check the forum archives. It happened and was called in a game. And I think also mos asked for clarification once.

The rules don't stipulate passed the line of scrimmage.

Now, you can kinda get on in the way, and you can chip, but you can't legit impede, especially when it's clear the dude is the legit target for like a screen.

But it'll often go unflagged because for obvious reasons the box is very busy and refs can't see everything. But you can challenge and win.

There is a line between a chip and impeding. It happens every game and I don't remember it being called recently.

You cannot block downfield on a pass across the LOS, but you can block downfield if the pass is behind the LOS, its in the rulebook and every official knows this, its another thing to catch this infraction in real time, your linesmen have got to be on the ball/sharp.

You misinterpreted my post, Brady was fully engaged in blocking every time I saw him, can't recall him slipping through the line and making himself a target, he was stuck in the muck most of the game.

When Demski comes back, Cobb goes, Singer stays.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

I doubt Cobb was on the field for more than 10 plays, he is rotating with Clercius and Daniels.  The suggestion that Singer replaces Nield is a better solution if they want to provide him with starter reps, but I don't believe they are ready to sideline Nield yet, with his size he still has the potential to make big plays.
