WINNIPEG, MB., August 8, 2026 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the following transactions.

Transferred from retired list to practice roster:
American defensive lineman Matt Jaworski

Jaworski played 1 game in 2025.  He retired which I take to mean he might have had a long term re-hab from injury? Does this mean the end for Jenkins on the PR. I think we need to make space to add another player.

We know trades are tough to find a trading match but I'd be putting out feelers to every team.  Even trading for a PR player on another team wouldn't be the worst idea.

We have an excess of ST players IMO and some other teams need upgrades. That's the best I can come up with for an idea. Nobody is going to trade a starting safety or secondary player without getting some significant asset.

What are we willing to give up considering injury status situation.

I don't think he'd be eligible as a retired player since he would be under contract technically. The team would have to release him in order for him to go anywhere else.

Hard to say why they are bringing him back after over a year off. Even if it was a re-hab thing, he played 1 game in 2025. Is he better than one of our DL? IDK but it's a bit of a surprise.

I don't think he was injured, like Jenkins he only played in one late season game in which they both looked pretty good. Maybe he thought he was done with football but wanted to take one more crack at it. 

Unless he's more of a DT I think it's going to be hard for him to get beyond the PR, Reese, Fletcher and Dixon to some extent have earned their head start, Jaworski might have to wait for injuries to crop up before he gets another shot at the AR.

It's less than a year off. He was with us last year. I bet you're right about the retirement thing tho.

Weird. Almost certainly this is us asking him. But that's not really what we need!

I don't know if they have a plan for Vibert or if they're just keeping him around as an emergency replacement, they seem to look at shuffling import solutions first before considering using him.  Same goes for Eli, with the use of Daniels his reps have dropped significantly.

I believe Eli, Daniels, Clercius, MCI and Cobb are all sharing reps  at one spot, unless an import receiver is sometimes coming off the field to accommodate 2 of them at the same time.  Anyone notice Pokey or White being rotated out in running situations?

I think he's just an emergency replacement. The needed an open spot on the PR and the choices are to release a player or RR him.

It might be a temporary paper shuffle. With Griffin expected to hit the IR, a PR player will be activated and Vibert might end up back on the PR.

It's import players that are getting injured so it makes sense that import solutions are logical decisions per se.
