Maybe it's just me, but I never believed Fajardo was ever seriously considering retiring. We went into the season knowing he was the unquestioned starter after they moved on from Ford last year.

 I believe Fajardo took starting duties from Ford before the halfway point in 2025. I heard him musing about retirement on several podcasts, but who knows, it could have been a negotiating tactic to force Hervey into making a strong offer before FA opened.
