I still say Betts is horribly over-rated. I don't remember him ever contributing in a major way against us.

Mostly kidding. I was surprised to not see him on that list of other OL of similar vintage.

Betts is a pure pass rusher, he preys on a players weakness and exploits it.  He's had enough big games I can respect his value but he is one dimensional and can be shut down.

I may have intentionally omitted him.

Agree with you and Stats Junkie.  Betts is a rush DE and basically a one-trick pony.  Keep him away from the QB and you essentially neutralize him.  Being able to unleash Brady in this game will be key to winning it.  He will be motivated and will reduce the need for Brown to put the ball in the air.

No gimmees but this game is winnable.  The onus IMHO will be on the offence.  Salter shouldn't scare us.

Oh, I'm scared.  With our current team, I'm super scared.  :-X  :'(  :-[

BC will play ultra-conservative ball-control type O.  The new kid will have no leash to throw mid/deep INTs.  It'll be full dink & dunk, which is our kryptonite.  And us?  We'll play our normal 4 INT, 5 fumble game and probably lose.  Oh ya, and that kid looks like he can run, so he'll rip us for multiple 15Y runs because the DC('s) didn't "expect them to do that" and our flat is always gaping.

Ah, but the question isn't "is Chungh good", the question is "is Chungh better than Eli/Elsbury at OG".  The scary thing is I can't give you an answer to that.

Did you watch Salter play?  He has a very nice, fat release and throws a ball with zip on target.

The biggest downside I see in his game is how flat his trajectory is.  I predict a higher number of knockdowns this game.  This Dline will feast, and as long as our DB/LBs get in front of receivers, there will be PBUs and maybe INTs.

If we can keep him making mistakes and staying off the field, maybe our O can do something.

He's had 15 pass attempts with 9 completions. Period. He's greener than green and he's playing behind an OL with 2 forced changes due to injuries.

Our defence should be able to dominate. If we can't then we need to make some serious changes.

I saw a scrambling QB that was wildly looking for anyone to throw the ball to with no conception of what he was looking at, similar to what Perkins showed in pre-season and hundreds of other scrambling QB's before him.  I think Buck made a serious mistake taking the keys away from Brice after one game and if Rourke can't save his butt with a second half miracle, he'll be fired or demoted at the end of this season.

Tecno's crystal ball needs a polishing. All signs point to an easy Bomber win. The only thing not in our favor is our record in games before bye weeks.

How did this thread go from air lifting in a OL to BCs QB Salter. Let's try and keep this thread on track. if you want to talk about Salter and BCs QB issues you can do it on the game day thread.
