He's also not on the field for every play on offence. OL are on the field for every play with the possible exception of punts, K/O's or FG attempts.

Willie might be rotating a bit more this season but he rarely came off the field last year because they had almost no rotation at DE.

Ya, but what we really need if the list of OT capable guys, which is usually far less than half that list.

I mentioned mcgloster on the other thread. He's probably most likely to still be in shape. Rice didn't really play all last season so he's finally done. Lofton didn't play but was still signed last season, I think, so in theory he should be good, and he knows the wfc system somewhat.

I too was surprised neuf didn't kick out to OT, that's what we usually do. Maybe we figured our run game would disappear if we did that.

Maybe we're seeing what mafia wants as the eventual desired OL... Broxton would get LT and Wallace RT. If they could make that work, as in Wallace actually able to do passpro as a tackle, it would be ideal. Assuming we have a NAT good enough to be guard...

That might be a pipe dream, but I suppose worth experimenting with!

The key may be this question: is Wallace continually improving? Or has he peaked at mediocrity? I don't know the answer to this.

Not sure father time or sister talent is any less an issue with anyone on this list.

I don't think Gabe was ever an OT prospect, but he is an OG road grader. I guess having him move into Neuf's role as emergency OT makes sense from a development standpoint.

I agree with not swapping out so many parts, Eli in at OG makes more sense than him in at C and bumping Elsbury out.

I still think some more coaching /inspiration is what is needed.  If Wiley isn't available, maybe something as simple as a Walby drop in to inspire the troops.  I can't imaging they are coming out of the film room inspired right now.  Yes, it is very important to look at the mistakes and plan on how to fix them.  But looking at that much failure... I hope they are showing a "fail" on the screen, and then backing it up with a great play from earlier in the season.

This is the mistake, but we know you can do it right, because here is film showing you doing the better job.

Condell is obviously installing packages, a team must do that to keep things fresh and invalidate film study and adapt to a new QB's strengths.  But i seems like he has taken his oline past their level of competence, and needs to dial back a bit.

My guess is they don't think Eli can handle one on one pass protection as well as Elsbury, and would struggle.

Other bad news Vibert is not getting any reps so unless Manu and Cline get cut from the NFL the pipeline is bone dry.

I'm not expecting the Lions to score much with a bad running game and a rookie QB making his 1st start. The question is whether we can mount an offence with our injuries?

I would plan on our O line struggling, so get the ball out early and often. If our hoggies can't open holes for BO, it may be one brutal offense vs another brutal offense. I just hope we address the interception issue

Even if they bring Vanterpool in at ROT Betts is going to feast on the poor mobility of both Tackles. Brady needs to stay home and help protect the QB along with Daniels, Eli or MCI, take your pick.

Betts is a true rush end. Ears pinned back and goes all out for the QB. The knock against him is that he performs poorly against the run.

Winnipeg needs to establish the run but I don't think running away from Betts is necessary.
