'I don't know who we are right now': Brady Oliveira concerned Winnipeg Blue Bombers lack offensive identity - 3DownNation https://share.google/2vL7GEnpV5G24fVhh

Brady not happy after the game on CJOB.  CJOB calling us a past 1st team and that scares me

I am not overally impressed with our OC, better than last year but only doing a fair job imo

Yes, but it means not getting behind by so much so early in games. We were in a huge bind by half time and the running game goes out the window.

I voted yes but mix in Peterson too. We don't have break away speed at RB. Not sure if Brady knows he might be the slowest RB in the league now. He is still the best power back but not by a huge enough margin to justify his pay differential over Mills ($100k) or Oulette ($130k).

This was the suggestion last week that I supported. The other thought was a few more touches to Chris-Ike and Daniels ( as a receiver ).

Adding Peterson is a risk reward question as to how much he'd be used and which ST player gets bumped.

It depends. Touches? Maybe. Runs? I don't know. Last night was a bit of an exception since he hit a couple big ones but Oliveria is just too easy to scheme away a lot of time time.

The one thing that's for sure is he isn't worth what we're paying him. It's not so much what he can do, it's what he can't that binds the hands of the OCs I've the last couple years and forces them to try and solve stacked boxes every week to make up for it.

It's just a problem without easy solutions if we want to keep Brady in there and we basically have no choice at the moment.

He is more than just his offensive output though. That's a little more difficult to put a value on per se. But overall I agree his SMS takes away money from adding other players in free agency. The same can be said for a few others.

You get a Canadian at running back and a huge bill. You also get a guy who can basically only be effective as an interior runner so you have Hogan and Condell tearing their hair out with sweeps and odd looks to try and find some way to attack the perimeters in the run game.

It's not like it's terrible but I have sympathy for what's not an easy problem to solve without changing the player causing it. It's even worse when you don't hand it to him enough he's complaining and being sore about it. Same as last year.

I suppose we could try more of just handing it off and running straight at +1 box looks and see if our big offensive line can move guys by the third and forth quarter but that's also a recipe for a lot of two and outs and TOP mismatches.

There's just no easy solution. I see the problem I just don't know how to fix it if Brady is an every down back.  Maybe you can't without a Streveler in his prime running threat at QB who could pull it and get to the edge. Perkins would open the running game right up but at the cost of the passing game.

Just started rewatching the game on TV since I saw it live and you miss stuff. The first play of the game for us on offense sets the tone. The O-line tries to wedge off the D line to the boundary side, the three receivers on the field side try to block their DBs, and Dru throws a check down to Brady swinging out of the back field at the line of scrimmage on the field side. Brad is immediately met by the Stamps MLB and safety, both of who are completely unblocked (no bomber is within 5 yards of them) in the middle, and tackled for a loss. Wallace and Daniels don't lay a hand on anyone. You have a week to draw up an opening play and this is what they come up with? Now possibly someone missed their blocking assignment, but it was a play just doomed to fail with no chance of success.

I said this a few weeks ago. 15 touches a game for Brady isn't enough. Lining him up as a receiver, stupid. We need him in pass protection.

I sure hope the OC realizes this

I know it's old news, but Those plays worked when we had Bailey, and Wolitarski.

Waste of a down if nobody wants to block.

We panicked way too soon. So many times we had good field position and then called stupid difficult plays. Should have just stuck to the plan like we were tied and played normal ball, at least until the 3 minute warning.

It was very non-MOS like. I wonder if he'll have a talk with Condell and dru...

The Ike touches are absolutely useless. Every time Ike lines up at rb the entire league knows its an Ike run. They stuff him worse than Brady because he's not as good.

If you want Ike to run, sometimes he has to line up at rb and just be a blocker.

You said it. The first drive is supposed to be scripted, and it's supposed to be some of your best ideas so you can get a good start and set the tone.

The scripts for our first drives are worse than the script to Ishtar.

It's gotten so I pray we lose the toss, or the other team takes the ball. Every game starting first drive we get is total butt.

Everyone involved should be ashamed.

Empty backfield is giving the d a free run to our qb. We are a team that needs to show rpo every single snap. It's so stupid.

The only time we should ever go empty is when we have a surefire short pass diaper dialed up. But we suck at those, so...

It's a miracle when the OL give the qb the full 2.7s, so don't plan around them doing better.
