It's not like we're coming off a great prior year either!  2025 was pretty bad too.  And I guess the city did punish the team a bit by taking away a few sell-outs that probably should have been.  And part of that could be the Stu effect and the Backlash Against 100.

But still, we certainly are much more reliable fans than our closest comp: SSK.

Even my son notices: nearly every week he's asking where the fans are in X stadium on TV.  Yes, even the supposedly die-est hardest fans in SSK.  Because he's so used to sitting in a packed PAS, even when we royally suck (like this year).

But I'm not surprised.  I started coming to games again in '12-'13 and the crowds were very stout.  I was always surrounded by tons of people, and looking across at tons of people, and everyone was having a good time even though we stunk and lost most home games.  That's the only reason I'm here now.  Not the winning, the experience.

And I can't answer my son on the "why".  He tries to offer reasons, and so do I.  But the real answer is "who knows"?  Maybe WFC has just "done it right" for decades now (since I was a kid) that it keeps the fan-stream flowing and plants the seeds early.  And that is what every CFL team should be doing.  And in that sense, I most respect what BC has been doing to grow the base.
