They should hire Strev to host that podcast, or somebody with a semblance of football knowledge, contrast with the Xs and Argos Podcast were they discuss football in depth and don't spend half the show talking about food.

That's just not what their show is about though.
My wife is amazing!

Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on July 17, 2026, 03:37:11 PMWesterman, Nevis, Poop, Tristan Okpalaugo, they always had a few good D-linemen, real DT's aren't built for chasing QB's, they're job is to clog up the middle.

Nevis was before the time-frame I mentioned, I think?  Or did he have one overlap year with Willie?  The Nevis/Stove/Willie/Jeffcoat years were when we were top dogs.

Westerman was just before this time period?  Maybe?

Okpalaugo... yes, that's a decent one I forgot.  Not quite Willie levels, but roughly as good as Roh.  Him & Roh made a pretty good pair, overall.

LOL.  I think the Huddle was after that game though?

I'm cool with people believing they saw things, but I would follow up with "how many drinks did you have" or "what substance were you smoking" that night...  ;D  ;D

That's what the Strev podcast is for!  ;D  ;D  Strev hosts the Strev podcast.

Huddle is more for "getting to know you".  (Man, Major needs to see more movies if those are his best picks!)

If you want X/O's, definitely check out the Lapo podcasts.  8)

I haven't stumbled on a LaPo video in awhile, is he still making them?

Dunno.  I never subscribed, only caught was was referenced here.  I would say he doesn't make them during the season -- but I'm pretty sure he used to do just that... so what do I know!

It could be his international-scope flag football projects are taking up all his time now.

The more content overall, the better. People connect to the league and players in different ways.

I was merely mentioning the alien thing as possible smack talk. There's no way we can believe that smack talk as gone away.

The Major is not having a good game.

Couple of good plays, couple of bad -- and yes, one of those was pretty bad.

He did say on the huddle, though, that he would take a DPI over a sure-thing TD any day of the week.  He proved just that.

The problem in the OTT game was that DPI was unnecessary -- that ball was going to be way OOB again, just like the identical one earlier.  The Major needs to remember who the QB is (garbage Maier) and how well he's been making that corner fade (bad).  Should have just left it to be incomplete.  It'll be interesting to see how the coaches approach this -- congratulate him or chastise him?

I think Gino totally played Major on that PI call, Dinwiddie tried it a second time when the receiver ran over Nichols in the endzone trying to draw another PI that would have placed the ball at the 1 yd. line, but the command center caught the deception.

After a rewatch of the last Stamps game, Williams had a very good game. Almost always had tight coverage. Beat a block to make a TFL on a wide receiver screen.
I'm not wild about JY's defense, but to me, Williams performance is evidence that a lot of the problem is talent in the secondary, not just scheme. I don't think Moxey, Nichols or Kelly belong in a CFL starting lineup.
That play where McCallister went uncovered up the middle for an TD pass against Kelly and Nichols in cover 2 was particularly bad. Neither of them even made a move towards him, even though deep shots are their responsibility in that coverage, and we had 9 guys back in coverage.
If we could clone Major, I think a lot ( maybe not all, but a lot) of our problems in the secondary would be solved.
Now some may argue that if you need 5 all star DBs to make a scheme work, then there's a problem with the scheme, and that would be a fair comment.

Disagree. Williams is fundamentally sound, but genetically challenged. Too short. Now you'd think who ever our scouts are, would find a few similar guys.

Now poor Nichols has lost his hunger, edge and aggressiveness. That guy gives a 15 yard cushion, and then fakes like he is going to tackle, but almost 100% pf the time arm tackles and misses.
We will never win with that guy at HB

Agree that nichols,Kelly and moxey don't belong in our starting lineup the thing is are we even bringing anyone in to upgrade

Major is fine regardless of his size.  Success can come regardless of physical traits sometimes.  Skill and determination can overcome many obstacles.

Kelly is a decent rotational player.  Moxie is a starter near the end of a great career.  He started weak, came on and now had a bad game.

Don't get better by deletion when the replacement is < than what you punted.

Nichols is struggling but to say we won't win with him is non factual.

As per Google, The Winnipeg Blue Bombers hold a 55–25 regular-season record across the 80 games Deatrick Nichols has actively played in since joining the franchise in 2021.

69% of the game he was been here have been a victory.
