MOS talks about players putting in "extra work" and QBs and RECs getting together outside of normal practice hours.  He also talks about the "amount of effort they need to put in outside of our guidelines".

The pundit says something about him talking about this on the coaches show too (where I'm heading next!).

This is exactly what I want to hear, and really the first time I've ever heard anyone in WFC talk about it.  Maybe it goes on all the time anyhow, maybe this is new(ish).  But I like that they are addressing one of my major gripes: sitting on docks drinking margaritas.  Note: That's verbiage I made up in jest to provoke response... In reality, I have no idea whether they are drinking margaritas or daiquiris.

He also hints that the unimpressive showing of the team so far (maybe with a focus on O?) adds extra impetus and gravitas to players putting in extra time.  I'm glad it's not all rose-colored glasses in the deep halls of PAS.

Can anyone remember this kind of talk before?  Or hints/proof players are meeting outside of "office hours" to improve the team?
Never go full Johnston!

Sir Blue and Gold

This is a bit of a bizarre rabbit hole you've chosen to go down lately. For one, there's no way you're ever going to know who is working on what and when, and even what's considered after hours or not. And if you are going to use MOS media interviews to try and parse that, good luck, you really aren't going to get anything of any quantifiable substance. Finally, it doesn't really matter anyway because what are you comparing it against? Football is played against another team, how many extra hours are they putting in?

All that really matters is wins and losses and how it looks on game day.  Use that as your measuring stick if you want one.

i didn't listen so not sure if the context - it was a short week of official practices so maybe it was about that.

CFL is a gravy train in official hours put in compared to the NFL - players have noted this who have played in both leagues.

it will all come down to results and execution on the field.

i would hope Dru is spending extra time studying the playbook and working with receivers - this is his shot.
