Curious to know if the people that think Collaros should be allowed to go to the wedding would feel the same way if it was a playoff game or, heaven forbid, the Grey Cup?

Anyho, Zach isnt listed on the injury report.

Its an event of a lifetime that doesn't interfere with anything, I say if he wants to go, go, don't live life worried about what others will think, live life for you.

The IR report shows 5 key starters as full practice but lists them as questionable. I suspect they will play but I guess it's not guaranteed either. Demski is often listed as questionable for most games. He gets banged up every game because of how hard he plays and gets hit.

I am curious to see what happens to those on the 6 game IR are treated roster wise. Do they get bumped to 1 game IR this week, or a couple of cases even to the PR. Unless they changed the rules of when 6 game IR players can practice, it's seem they did start early?

No big deal either way, but trying to keep with the always changing dynamics of rule changes.

I'd imagine if the stakes were higher, he'd take that into account.

I don't begrudge him missing a single practice early in the season to attend a friends wedding if he's back for the game.

That said, I think the expectation is that he stays with the team and misses the event.

If you can believe the transaction page, Jenkins was moved to the PR and Kornelson was activated. That would suggest Reese has passed him on the depth chart.

It might also mean the Ceresna is not 100% and they need to beef up the DT position.

The other shoe has to drop because that allows us to add another import somewhere. We don't have healthy bodies for most positions. IMO it comes down to adding another DB or a receiver. Flip a coin.

Singer or Vant (if Wallace out).  A stable OL will provide more value to our woes than another IMP REC, IMHO.  On the flipside, it would be nice to see if Singer is the next big thing so we can plan around him the rest of the season.

Did no one read my comment on the other thread?  Collaros in the TSN segment with Kate last game said HE WAS GOING.  And Kate was hooking him up with wedding presents.  They wouldn't have that whole segment and Zach wouldn't say those things if he didn't already have leave.

This is literally impossible.  It can't possibly be WORSE than basement expectations.

Cumulatively it could, in retrospect attending this event may be seen as the straw that broke the camel's back which sent the season spiralling down the toilet.  They almost missed the playoffs last season, if they dare miss them this year there will most likely be a few big changes in store.

I actually don't think we'll be all that bad.  We can move the ball every 3-5 drives.  We have decent to good personnel.  Our D might do ok against the run, certainly better than the prev HAM game.  We might do decent stopping the deep ball.  We'll play to our scheme's strengths.  We might get lucky on ST.  We might put up decent points.  If we're really lucky Brady & The OL might accomplish something and avg 6YPC.

The problem is we'll be outclassed in most aspects.  It'll be clear we never had a chance.  It'll be clear that the other team isn't even having to try their hardest, and can be playing one of their worst games this season and still easily win.  Kind of like how SSK just beat OTT.

The worst part is it will be clear the braintrust is once again letting us down.  There will be no higher-order thinking.  No taking advantage of teams keying on our tendencies.  No thinking outside the box on D.  If we manage to shut down the deep ball, they'll just take the free short pass outlet the whole night -- like BLM and his top-tier REC corps can't pull that off?  And the team will be visibly low-key, and by the mid-3rd they'll be bummed out and thinking of the flight home.

Quote from: blue_gold_84 on July 03, 2026, 02:11:38 PMTurns out he has at least five favourite targets. ;D

Can't say I understand where the narrative comes from that he fixates on targets; there's really no evidence to support it.

He totally does it, especially since Woli/Bailey left.  He used to trust everyone in the magic 2019 crew and spread the ball more evenly; now, not so much.

Look at the HAM game.  It was all Nield all the time.  When it's a more important down, or a more important time of the game, or a harder play, he goes to his hot hand for the night.  And it does change each night.  He picks his favorite early (and maybe that's part of the Condell plan, too; hard to say).  Or it could be he senses who the D is focusing on and goes the other way, also hard to say.

Against EDM it was Demski.  And there were many times vs EDM in the 4th when our lesser RECs were wide open and could easily get 1st down and Zach doesn't give them the time of day.  Instead he throws to heavily covered Demski.

See below.  All excluding Brady, who gets cheap targets as the dump outlet.

vs CGY
White 5/6 60
Pokey 2/7 52
next highest had 4 targets

vs HAM
Nield 7/9 111
Pokey 6/7 87
White 4/7 79
next highest had 4 targets

vs EDM
Demski 6/7 92
White 5/7 55
next highest had 4 targets

So most games have 2, maybe 3, favored/hot-hands.  Everyone else is around half the targets as the top guys.

And this isn't even that weird.  Many/most teams/QBs will pick faves per game or even per season.  Surprise surprise, those faves are usually the top paid playmakers.

However, the best teams in any given year will often be more even-distributors.  Like SSK last year (excluding Busby, LOL), and us in '19-'22.  Or even TOR this season: everyone eats.

It's not good when they have receivers he completely ignores like Cobb, Corcoran or Clercius when healthy, he shows no confidence in them and only looks their way when he has no other options.  Not making use of all the weapons available diminishes the attack and makes it easier to defend against.  Same goes for MCI, look how great Daniel Adeboye plays as a change up to Bell in Ottawa.

Pete

thr fact that in the three games that 3 different guys led in targets in fact indicates that Zac isnt paying favorites, when you have 4 good targets of course the fifth isnt going to see the ball much.
