Not me, work life balance is important, you give your veteran leader a long leash.  He earned that.

I would want Zach to go as I wouldnt want him moping around over the fact he missed out attending.

Besides, if Zach does go Im sure he'd still be in contact with Tommy and the QBs over zoom or whatever.

We're paying Collaros over $500K to play football for 18 games. He's played with 100's if not 1000's of players in college and the CFL. He's played on several CFL teams over an extended time.  He doesn't get to skip practices or games every time one throws a party or gets married.

That is not part of our culture. Leaving for illness within the family, birth, death or critical business requirements is ok but not all encompassing.

Yup he earned that.  He earned the ability to take this break.  It's not everytime. It's this time.

Terrible idea.  Guy gets approved to take a break.  He doesn't loose his job as a result.  He almost single handedly turned this org. around.  He can go to a party, return and sling.  Non issue handled internally.  2nd and 3rd string get more reps at practice.

$600k, he can go to the event after the Ti-Cat game, I'm sure the party will carry on for a few days after the wedding.

That's actually a great idea.  I'd give it to Elgersma.  We're going to lose no matter what anyhow.  Let's save Zach getting beaten up (especially if Wallace is out and there's yet another OL shuffle -- unless we plug in Vant).  AND we get to see what Elgersma can offer -- and if HE stinks it all up then he certainly can't pout being moved to RR all season in favor of Dru.

And if Elgersma lights it up and is RIGHT NOW the next Rourke, we have a season-long option of parking Zach and rolling with our new star NAT QB.  Ya, that's not going to happen, but one can dream.

If he has a private jet so total time away from the team is 7-8 hours, AND he wins against league-best HAM in a dominating fashion (i.e. not just ST/D luck), then I say all is forgiven and I won't care one whit.

But we all know the latter will not happen.

If your stipulation BinBC is so strict, be prepared to be severely disappointed!!  P.S. I'm more on your side about this than not.

Pokey in his wide-out position gets a look only on the rare occasion we decide to "go for it" and Zach gets the match-up he likes -- IOW, rarely.

Everyone else is just an afterthought.  And between Nield & Demski his favorite changes based on who the D is double-covering and who shows the hot hand early in the game.  Zach is 100% a hot-hand guy -- he picks his favorite early every game.  And if you whiff early, God help you, because you'll be invisible to him later on.

Turns out he has at least five favourite targets.

Can't say I understand where the narrative comes from that he fixates on targets; there's really no evidence to support it.

I think realistically you'd have to platoon them. Elgersma would need simplified looks and choices.

What we lose in experience we gain in athletics and arm talent.

It would look quite a bit different but I don't think it would be significantly worse. Zach's actual offensive output has been pretty modest the last two seasons most nights. I've seen enough that I don't think he's going to elevate enough to beat any of the monsters playing QB right now.

Playing against Hamilton this weekend,, and Toronto next , teams have figured out our secondary . With the way offences are lighting it up I would suhgest that the best way to slow em down is to get creative in how we pressure the qb Likely the next move in adjustments.

If he leaves after practice, then it might be alright. The point was more to whether he'd miss a practice and potentially arrive late and / or unprepared due to missing practice.

We don't even know if he is in fact going, but I guess we'll find out.
