Quote from: Blue In BC on June 21, 2026, 01:28:33 PMI figured that but Vanterpool being moved off 6 game IR was curious. It may just be that he's moved to 1 game IR or reserve list. Team might have been a little short of OL with 2 absent.

Hard to imagine what they plan to do with Vanterpool it made more sense to hold onto Randolph as he could play OT if Stan or Broxton went down.  Vanterpool spent most of last year on the 1 game waiting to play, so maybe they've found their O-line backup content to sit and wait for his opportunity to come along, even if it never does.  The infamous Manase Foketi waited 3 full years on the PR for Stanley to retire and he never missed a single game. Foketi was signed for a 4th year but was a no show at TC, he finally gave up waiting.

Vant played OT at times in reg season games, I could have sworn.  And from hazy memory he looked no worse than Rand.  I actually thought Vant would have won the spot, but they liked Rand better for some reason.

Foketi... when I first started going to games again in '12-'14, wasn't he listed as one of the scratches a whack ton of times?  And Ekatite?  I remember I used to wait for the scratch announcement ~45 mins before KO and I could mouth the names in sync with the announcer... they rarely changed.

Is there any chance they add Vanterpool as LG and move Wallace to the middle? He's had more experience on the roster than Elsbury.

I'm just curious as to what they are doing with Vanterpool back practising after a short time on 6 game IR.

Lucky we didn't hold on to Randolph...

Randolph played all 18 games plus the playoffs at ROT while Vanterpool played a few games at OG but mostly sat on the 1 game last season, obviously they thought Randolph was the better fit at OT. I Don't think Vanterpool played enough in pre-season to beat him out especially if he was injured, I'd lean towards Randolph wanting out after he saw they re-signed Stanley and brought in Broxton, he likely knew through his agent he could catch on quickly elsewhere, and he did.

Foketi spent 3 full years on the PR, don't recall him ever getting beyond that status.

In other news, the Bombers released Canadian receiver Daniel Oladejo from the practice roster. The team made the announcement on Monday.

The 26-year-old signed with the team last month following his release from the Montreal Alouettes.

Too bad he's not a Natl, I think they should bring in every CDN. D-linemen they can get their hands on.

Maybe we're finally the ones bribing a washed-up for a possible GC rival's O book...

Nah, Mafia way too boy scout.

I was referring to before that, when neither had any/many starts at OT.  It may have just been garbage season and PS, but I'm sure Vant took snaps at OT, just as Rand took snaps at OG.

There was a time both guys were in the running for any spot they could play.  The final result is what each earned.  Clearly Mafia saw something I didn't in Rand.  Or... maybe not, because Vant is stil here and Rand was deemed expendable!  (Ya, your theory is probably correct, but still...)

Not sure Wallace can even bend over and look back...   ;D  ;D  ;D  :o  :o

I've never heard of Wallace being C in U or anywhere.

We have 3 guys, 2 who clearly are good snappers (Eli, Els), and 1 who looks promising (Vibert).  Why on earth would we try to shoehorn in another guy who's not used to it?

I thought Wallace was doing some snapping in pre season. It's more a question of whether Vanterpool / Wallace is a better combination than Wallace/Elsbury at the moment.

I believe they both had time at OT when Stan suffered his fainting spell and missed a few games, must have been 2024, Eric Lofton was on the other end,

Why do you ignore Eli?  He's 100% the snapper should Elsbury be out.  At least until Vibert is fully groomed to steal his spot.
