Really can't see him returning in a Jet uni.

Does Chevy get something from Utah, who seemingly have some good players coming up thru their AHL affiliate.
Chevy should ask for D.But a young fwd., from their roster.
Ask for an up and comer in Iginla or Desnoyers and consider another off their roster and a draft spot or two

Or will San Jose, Canes or Buffalo step up
Regardless, Chevy has to get it done, cuz Friday is coming fast and I would dislike us paying him to stay home or return to Wpg..

Honestly, I still think the most likely scenario is he's not traded and plays for the Jets. It's what Mark Chipman wants to happen and teams will never give the Jets the price they are asking.

This whole situation with Hellebuyck is just annoying at this point.

Unless he seriously atones for the garbage he's pulled on this team (I have no idea what atonement would even entail), I say let him ride the pine.

It pains me to say that because I sincerely believed he'd be a Jet for life.
Life is strange.

No doubt that Chipman is heavily involved in this situation

9/61/13 tonight. Like to see 61/13 get going.

To many penalties, and not enough scoring depth.

Great goal tending caused a lot of ewes and awes to be expressed

More of our no finish and definitely no scoring depth

Have been nicely surprised at how well Stuuu has played so far

Same problem as last season. Really need to see that second line get going.

Sounds like the team itself is divided, they will all say he would be welcomed back, they have to.  But you can hear hesitancy, and a lot of proviso's, like full mea culpa's and apologies, and a commitment to the team going forward that is irrevocable.  I just don't see him doing that.

Now that he's going to get paid, whether he plays or not, I can see him sitting back and counting the semolians.

My prefereance, a "conditioning stint" with the Moose, we have no idea what shape he is in, too many NHL vets show up to camp flabby, and he's not only missed camp, but a number of games, he could be in terrible shape. During this stint with the Moose, he gets to:

A: get into game shape for a trade
B: showcase his abilities, and rack up 10 wins for the Moose.

This will give him time to apologize, take his lumps, and prove he is worth welcoming back.

After his 10 game "conditioning stint", if we haven't found a trade partner, and the team is not accepting of his contrition, then start paying him to sit at home.

But please, do not give him a couch paycheck day one.  Make him earn it.

Looks like perfect weather for the Heritage Classic on Sunday.

#189
Yager looked VG. Like to see 29/93 on the same line.  Another OT lose. I knew once NP4 committed to the 3 on 2, we had to score or we were dead.  PP not very good without JM44.

Chipman is heavily involved. Chevy has said so.

I think people forget that Helle wanted a trade 2 years ago as well. They (him and Scheif) were given permission to seek trades but the same thing happened - no one offered the Jets the value they were looking for. Chevy and Chipman had to the the full press and "reveal the plan" that assured them the Jets would be consistent contenders to get them to re-sign. Then we miss the play offs.

This has been the Jets playbook. Delay, get into a play-off spot, hope the trade request just fizzles out. Helle knows this. This is why he made his trade request public.

My biggest annoyance is that the Jets refuse to acknowledge they're not a Stanley Cup contender. The best trade we're going to get is a futures based deal so the play-off teams who want to make themselves better by adding Helle can work with us. No one is going to make themselves worse by sending us their scorers. It's an impossible ask designed to avoid making a deal.

They don't have a choice.

We got a point but certainly wasted a very good performance
by Stuuuu.

Personally feel the experiment with Bjorck should be done.
Has a lot of skill and smarts in his arsenal but we only saw mere flashes of such. Meanwhile hockey is results driven and I'm suggesting he hone these capabilities for the balance of this season elsewhere. Give him a chance to get stronger with less pressure in this limelight

They have a choice, as I said, make him do a "conditioning stint" of 10 games with the Moose. If they haven't got a deal by then, give him a  couch cheque.

But not tomorrow.

I disagree.  MS55 struggled with puck luck early this season.  VB61 is having the same issue, with far fewer minutes.  He has fought hard in the scrums, took the puck away from a veteran and caused a scoring chance, and has looked very good most of the time, far better than I'd expect an 18 year old rookie should.

I'm sure he's accept a move to the Moose as a part of his growth, but I don't think it improves his game.  He would be very dominant there, but against slower competition.  He needs the NHL speed to let the game "slow down" for him.

Giving Lambert, Yager and Bjork NHL minutes will improve them all, and when they start potting goals, this team will be much, much better.
