With Hellebuyck moving on, it's time to hit the reset button — in the emotional sense only, that is; there are too many talented players in their primes here to flirt with a roster reset. You won't find a rebuild here. Stuart Skinner mans the crease, and he may not play himself onto many Vezina ballots, he also isn't costing Winnipeg games. A bounce-back campaign from Cole Perfetti, paired with a breakout for first-round darling Viggo Björck, provides the perfect jolt of energy on an offence that saw Mark Scheifele hit a new career high last year. Chips on shoulders spur production. Come April, a wild-card spot is in hand.

Worst-case scenario: The Hellebuyck saga goes on... and on...

I have no issue with CH37 sitting suspended for not reporting.  Zero cost, and trade value increases as goalies get injured into the season.  Someone will get desperate soon enough.

Can he play in another league while under contract?  Does the Russian league honour NHL deals?

Looking like Bjorck has come to play.  I totally see a Bjorck/Rosen/Perfetti second line, the question will be can Perfetti keep up?

How many young guys are going to crack the lineup this year?  Sounds like the rebuild is built.  Just one more piece to clarify.  It would be amazing if Milic or Devencentis makes the big step up and steals starts from Skinner.

I don't see this as an effective 2nd. line for the Jets. Rosen would have to have a breakout season. He had a whooping 10 points last season. CP91 needs a bounce back season and VB is an 18 year old, 5'9" 177 rookie that is going to need some protection. Rosen and CP91 will not be providing that for him. You need someone on that line with a little grit in his game.

Jets getting terrible offers for CH37.

Chevy will let him sit, unpaid, until the right deal comes down.  First team to lose a goaler to a knee injury will call.  First GM taking over from someone fired after a 2-10 start will call. 

Will it take a week for a team to realize the goaler they have in camp came out of shape of has aged out? 

Or a month for a losing streak? 

Or three months for an injury?

Truth is, it no longer matters.  CH37 has made his bed, and will be suspended in it.  Won't cost the Jets a penny in Cap space to wait for the right deal.  And the more restrictions CH37 keeps on Chevy with his NM clause, the longer he sits.  And plays rec league hockey to stay fit.  Maybe the Letterkenny Shamrocks have a spot.

Sorry if I sound a little bitter, but this is betrayal in a team sport.  These guys blocked shots for him, and now he stabs them in the back, saying they aren't good enough a team for him to bother with for only $8.5 mil a year.

The team won the Presidents freaking cup, and couldn't make it to the finals.  Was it 100% CH37's fault?  Of course not.  Could CH37 have got them there is he played like he did at the Olympics?  Of course he could.  But he didn't.

Broissoit kicked his *** and helped Vegas win the cup.

Good riddance.

Not sold on Rosen and would suspect that he would battle with Lambert for that 2nd line winger, regardless of whether Bjorck is knighted the centre.

It will be interesting to see, if the organization has faith in our goalies, in the system, to back Skinner. This might be a good reason to not worry about a goalie in return

Pair them with gritty Dmen.

Love the reel of the trainer asking Bjorck if he was OK after a big hit, and he said he was OK, he is hard.

There would be speed and playmaking on that line, good eyes.  I am sure they'll get a look together in the preseason.

There is a lot of young talent waiting to break out, hopefully this is the year. Sad to see Salmonson not ready to start the year.

The size isn't the issue. It's that none of them play with any grit. Zach Benson is 5'10" 177, but he plays like a badger, put up points, and draws penalties.
