I'm excited to see what this kid can do in the NHL.

Nice 3yr ELC for Bjorck

See that the arbitration date for Fetts is set for July 22nd

$1.075M AAV

More than the normal ELC, or has it gone up with the cap increase?

So much conjecture out there as to whether he starts with the big club, slots right into the 2C, or marinates a little with the Moose, and doesn't use up his 10 games.

I vote for starts with the club at 2C.  Not worried about "rushing him", he's been playing against men already, and doing well.  Sure, its not NHL level competition, but its still playing against big bodies and not getting pushed around.

I think this is going to be the pick of the draft, that he will be making a quick and important contribution.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

If he wins the 2C spot in TC, great.

The maximum salary for a ELC is $950K, so Bjorck's contract presumably includes a signing bonus of $125K per year.

Unless another prospect has taken some major strides this summer, it's probably his to lose at this point.

Looking like the Jets are going to play him like he's intended to be 2C. I'm more than happy to watch him work through the struggles with the hope that he absolutely runs away with it and solves that hole for us, once and for all.

OK, giraffe in the room.

Logan Stanley.  What are his agent's holding out for?  If he was available at a reasonable term and price, can he come back?  Would you sign him to a one year $2.5mil "I'm betting on me" contract?  If you did, would he get a chance to show his value.  Is he a good stopgap as our young D develop, or are we past that point?  Would it allow us to move a top 4 Dman in a trade?

For that right price, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Stanley back on a one- or two-year deal. No more than $2M AAV, though.

Man, I don't want Stanley for any price. He's just blocking the way for younger prospects.

Stanley would more than likely slide in at third pairing/7D, so I don't know if that'd be the case.

He's exactly where we'd play Sasha or Alfons when they come up.

We just signed Ferraro to bridge the gap until they come up. Stanley is nothing but a detriment to the team.

Boumedienne and Freij are both nowhere near ready yet. The former hasn't even signed his ELC and the latter's barely even cut his teeth in the AHL. I wouldn't even count those two in the Jets discussion at this time.

I don't see the correlation you're trying to make. With that said, I don't expect the Jets to sign Stanley, anyway.
