thats the point to make suggestions/identify needs so the season isnt lost. What did u think a forum is for, to simply say " go Bombers go"? We have posters for that too

Yes we have more injuries than normal this early that we have to adjust our roster. New players and the usual short pre season means some cohesion work in process.

It's difficult to know how well or how quickly this all works out. Nothing out of the norm.

I guess we could and maybe should do a thread on the offense for putting together a mostly good game. The problem is that it wasn't enough to make up for the defense's very poor performance. If it was a few bad plays we can complain and move on but this thread is about a greater, more systemic issue that warrants criticisms and solutions.

It's actually the opposite of wanting to blow it all up and move on - it's "what should we do to make sure this doesn't happen again". I think it's fair to hold one phase of the team to that standard.

Next week if we win, it'll be roses again around here.

O'Shea said during the offseason he should have been more involved with his coordinators last season, that comment may have been spurred by post season conversations he had with players during exit interviews or maybe there were things he saw on both sides of the ball he didn't like, but hesitated to interfere with their game planning.

Wonder if he is keeping a tighter check this season?  He's probably out of his league when it comes to play calling or the schemes they're using, but he can definitely push them in any direction he wants them to go.

I don't post a lot but I too made comments about our D that I think need to change ie run D, middle LB switch etc.

I took markf's comment as a reminder that it's only 2 games this year so maybe we need to see what if any adjustments are made.

I know some will say that we have had these issues in past years as well but I think the team made some very good moves - Ceresna and Broxton as examples to address those areas many thought needed addressing.

Normally that would be fine.  But the clearly top-4 teams hit the 2026 ground sprinting.  Whatever the reason -- bad luck, whatever -- we don't have the luxury of taking until Oct to solve our glaring holes.

Lucky for us the next game is EDM, which is probably the 2nd worst team, so maybe we can fake it until we make it.

Normally every team but maybe 1 or 2 is floundering just like we are now.  That buys everyone time.  No such luxury in 2026.

I think it's debatable whether Jones is getting the job done or whether he falls into good bang for the buck. Ask your self why did he get moved to WIL? MLB is a more significant position on defence. Call it a sliding scale.  Typically the MLB is in control of the front 7 ( Bighill ).

I posit Jones to WILL because teams reamed our edges in the run game.  Jones will stop weak side runs.  (Same reason Griffin to SAM.)  I also posit Kyrie is the brains, Jones the muscle, thus Kyrie to MLB ("QB of D").

Whether this is actually working out so far is debatable.

We know that for every player added at top dollar then another player has to fill a position for less money. On a scale of 1 - 10 where would we rank Jones or Wilson?

In terms of Jones vs all CFL WILL/MLBs, I'd give him a 7.  Beverrette would be above him.  I don't value "take-yer-head-off" as much at MLB so I also rate him highly, 6-7 at MLB.  His 2025 numbers don't lie.  Jones is a steal at his SMS hit.  The only downside is he's not cerebral like Biggie.

I agree game 2 and the forum swung manic early and often here, patience my friends.  Deep breath.  Nice to have someone on here with a similar take as me.  All opinions are welcome on here.  The swings on here are like the stock market.  Buy low now! LOL
