Quote from: Blue In BC on June 08, 2026, 11:16:27 PMI guessed wrong that Reese would be added instead of Fletcher. However, a big man inside helps collapse the pocket more.

Interesting that they made one move to IR and not Woodbey. Maybe he can play this week afterall??

Good to see Fletcher getting an opportunity to play, hopefully all 4 rookie Imports get a fair number of games this season to show their stuff and by the end they should know the best 2 or 3 to hang onto.  Guessing Willy intends to play another 2 seasons at least, so his replacement is not even contemplated yet.

Quote from: Blue In BC on June 09, 2026, 12:25:35 AMI know that but my point was I thought greater depth at DE was more important than at DT. We're replacing Dixon who was an edge guy with an inside guy.

That changes the rotation from 4 players to 3 players. I wouldn't expect Fletcher as much outside but perhaps I'm incorrect. IMO he's a power rusher and not a speed / edge player. I had the impression that Reese was more that type.

Based on the team we're going to play, it makes sense. BLM is not going to get outside as much as Rourke for example.

So we may see a DL rotating on and off the AR depending on who we're playing. While that's not the best approach but our choices are all rookie imports.
Not sure what the difference is? We have Gatkuoth, backing up de, fletcher dt, and can also have a combo of jefferson, Lawson, fletcher and Ceresna or jenkins

Fletcher can also play DE. Fletcher is a big man that moves very well, you might be surprised with his quickness.

Yes but I had the impression that Reese was faster and more of a true DE. No matter, they made a choice which isn't really a head scratcher. He's a viable choice if we wanted another DL.

OTOH I did mention earlier that against a passing QB, I wondered if adding another DB might have been advisable.

Re-read what I said about the 4 versus 3. Many felt that Gatkouth isn't ready yet, but that's a TBD. It may be that I under estimated Fletcher's ability to play outside as well.

Fletcher's an inside guy. Honestly, I think that extra DI spot is fine either way (DE or DT) but DT might be better. With how much we line up linebackers at DE on passing downs (and the fact Gatkouth can play is needed) , the extra tackle is nice to have.

Pigskin

To bad about Clarke, he had a pretty good game on teams.

Looks like rain all day, but light rain for the game. Temps at kickoff 16.

Ceresna ran out of gas on that last Stamp drive and took himself off the field, Lawson probably played every snap without rotation which is dumb, ineffective and dangerous to his health. The DT's need rotation, if they're not going to dress Kornelson who is at least more effective than Gatkuoth, then it makes sense to dress Fletcher over Reese.

Yep, two DTs is just not feasible.

Well, maybe Ceresna is able to convince MOS we need more of a rotation.
My wife is amazing!

One thing is sure, if the backfield plays the same as last week bo will slice them up.

Really?? Now I'm going to have to check.

I thought it was hicks that got gassed shortly after halftime. It's like he didn't even exist in h2.

Ceresna was making huge plays even in the 4th. If he left, my bet is either he tweaked something, or cgy locked him out with tempo o.

Quote from: Blue In BC on June 08, 2026, 08:36:23 PMFor whatever it's worth from Facebook: Woodbey did not practice due to a calf issue

Well, one could consider Achilles as calf lol. But let's assume it was really just calf. That's a weird one for that type of reaction. If it got tight or inflamed or cramped, that's usually a thing that happens when you're not doing anything, like after the game.

When did the injury happen? Right after halftime or a long cgy drive?

Very weird. But super good news.

But then... Why did we add 2 odd choices for lb? Something is not adding up.
