Looks like Jake Kelly is into the starting D as they'll need to replace the injured Jaiden Woodbey.

Also seeing some Ridge Texada reps at corner today. Perhaps the rookie makes his CFL debut Thursday.

I'm good with Texada. Like him. Kelly is another story. That's going to be an adventure.

Have to re-watch the game to pick up on specific players.
it would be only on some plays. Similar to how Kelly only came in occasionally.

Quote from: Blue In BC on June 08, 2026, 05:18:22 PMI'm not sure we want to see Smith be a starter before he's had a chance to get some reps on defence. He might end up there as the season progresses but is that time now?

Griffin taking on Woodbey's role makes sense but potentially just moves the problem elsewhere.

I see we added a global and import LB to the PR. Oyelolo ( global ) has been here before and we had PR spots for a global choice. IDK we needed to bring back a choice from 2021 and couldn't find one released across the league from TC 2026?

It did seem we choose not adding a 2nd global to the AR over a Canadian choice. Otherwise Munier-Bailey would still be here.
I wouldn't pitch for Smith to start either. I just want him to get some additional minutes with Woodbey out. Ayers has to be the next guy up. Kramdi can always step right back up if needed.

Kelly isn't good when coming in at hb or corner, safety might be better
Hoping we insert Fletcher for Woodbey as a di

For whatever it's worth from Facebook: Woodbey did not practice due to a calf issue. That would be a much better outcome than an achilles even if he spends some time on the IR. Fingers are crossed he doesn't end up on 6 game IR with a season ending problem.

He's a player maker with a " unique set of skills ".

Will be interesting who makes the AR this week and makes up for the reps from anyone that can't go
Some really interesting discussion here.

Kelly shouldn't take reps om D unless we're up by 3 TDs in the 4th quarter. He does nothing but get lit up.

Good news for Woodbey bad news for Dixon.

Per the CFL transaction wire the Bombers have placed DE De'Shaan Dixon on the 6-game injured list. They've activated DT Michael Fletcher.

M.O.A.B.

DT Fletcher added to Active Roster
DE Dixon to 6-gamer

Not good news for Dixon, but Fletcher is a big man with some quickness. I think he will fit in nicely with our DL.

Good news on Woodbey. Glad it's not Achilles.

I guessed wrong that Reese would be added instead of Fletcher. However, a big man inside helps collapse the pocket more.

Interesting that they made one move to IR and not Woodbey. Maybe he can play this week afterall??

Ceresna can play both tackle and end so it works adding fletcher

I know that but my point was I thought greater depth at DE was more important than at DT. We're replacing Dixon who was an edge guy with an inside guy.

That changes the rotation from 4 players to 3 players. I wouldn't expect Fletcher as much outside but perhaps I'm incorrect. IMO he's a power rusher and not a speed / edge player. I had the impression that Reese was more that type.

Based on the team we're going to play, it makes sense. BLM is not going to get outside as much as Rourke for example.

So we may see a DL rotating on and off the AR depending on who we're playing. While that's not the best approach but our choices are all rookie imports.
