TORONTO (August 28, 2026) – The Canadian Football League (CFL) Department of Health, Safety and Integrity manages league discipline, while the Office of the Commissioner oversees suspendible offences.

• Montreal defensive lineman Mustafa Johnson has been fined for unnecessary roughness on Ottawa offensive lineman Giordano Vaccaro.
• BC defensive lineman Mathieu Betts has been fined for committing a non-football action, striking Saskatchewan offensive lineman Daniel Johnson.

Danny Maciocia and Jason Maas Signed Two-Year Contract Extensions

Montreal, September 1, 2026 – The Montreal Alouettes announced Tuesday that they have signed Senior Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Danny Maciocia, as well as Head Coach Jason Maas, to two-year contract extensions.

Maciocia is now under contract through the 2031 season, while Maas is signed through the 2030 campaign.

I see the Lions recently released Tyrie Adams for any team in the market for a Caleb Evans like mobile QB with questionable ability to read the field, Tre Ford gets all the breaks!

BOND SUSPENDED FOR VIOLATING CFL/CFLPA DRUG POLICY

BC fullback receives two-game ban for positive test

TORONTO (September 2, 2026) – Under the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the CFL Players' Association's joint drug policy, BC fullback Jacob Bond has been suspended for two games after testing positive for the banned substance D-amfetamine, which is classified as a non-specified stimulant on the policy's Prohibited List.

Seems like a pretty light sentence if this substance enhanced his performance for who knows how many games or seasons before the random test caught him. Some players go a couple of seasons without getting picked for a test.

And to clarify, this isn't our ex db bonds, this is just bond. Like James bond.

that seems to be the same amount of games Harris got a couple of years ago for the same offense, so its consistent to what they dole out for such a foul.

For many weeks starting next fall a crew will have to alter the chalk lines and move the goal posts at PAS to switch between the Bombers and the Bisons.  This will add considerable expense and is the result of the CFL commissioner not consulting with any of the affected parties. This could be looked at as a declaration of war by Football Canada.

Bravo Football Canada, finally somebody grew a pair and stood up against these bogus bogus rule changes. Hopefully the additional expense of moving goal posts and lines etc is borne by the professional league insisting on these changes and not amateur sport.

Yup. I'm thrilled u sports and the other leagues are putting pressure on Johnston. They're basically saying "we considered your radical changes for a whole year and have concluded you're batpoop crazy".

Don't underestimate the pressure this puts on Johnston. Sanity may still prevail.
