Throw Long Bannatyne

Quote from: Pete on May 28, 2026, 04:42:17 PMtyker eksbury might have a shot in that he can also play center. If eli gets hurt our option would be to dress Vibert in addition to the cdn being replaced.

Pre-season #1, I saw Vibert snapping the ball at least once, for sure he remains on the AR as the 6th man in a backup capacity, no one else qualifies.

Tyler Elsbury is also a little bigger then Eli. Eli 6'4" 314, Elsbury 6'6" 333.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

TBURGESS

This is a DAZN game for sure. IE Don't care if I miss it.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

Actually:

It's a CFL+ game this year and next year it's a YouTube game if it's not picked up by TSN. Thanks for taking the time to tell us you don't care.

Quote from: kkc60 on May 28, 2026, 02:17:39 PMIf the interior is Wallace, ELi and Neufeld then the only new guy will be Broxton (a super expensive FA signing). Any struggles will almost certainly not be "gel" related but talent-related.
Disagree.  The OL lives and breaths as a unit.  New faces, new OC, new plays etc.  Success will come yes based on talent but imo how the unit comes together.  Seen this trend on a years basis even when we have minor changes.

My point was struggle at "times".

Quote from: Blue In BC on May 28, 2026, 01:45:18 PMIf the only change on the OL is Broxton at RT there shouldn't be any issue in gelling or struggling.

We can't have a slow start. The west will be very competitive.
I believe the OL will struggle at times early, gel and be a very good unit.

Hope I'm wrong.  A decent start would be awesome and needed.  I don't see that many weak clubs this year across the board which is awesome for the league.

I am overall very positive on the prospects for a good season but need to see how the OL plays, DB coverage is and if our new OC calls it how I would like it (bombs and BBB to the max!).

Quote from: Pigskin on May 28, 2026, 03:54:36 PMTotally agree.
Partially disagree
Quote from: Jesse on May 28, 2026, 04:17:44 PMI don't think a slow start really hampers you too much in the CFL. The season is too long and there are too many ebbs and flows.
Agree, long season, can always make up games if dominate late.
Quote from: LXTSN on May 28, 2026, 02:48:17 PMIf we needed a win Strevler would more likely get us that win somehow. He was great at motivating the offence and adding a wrinkle to the rushing game.

Elgersma isn't going to get us a win this year. He might help us get one, but that's not his job. We need to set our expectations for his 2026 season. Our expectation should be: Get comfortable and improve on your accuracy.

Perkins should be the guy to replace Zach if he's out. He's our "win-now" back up QB.
With that said, I really want to see Perkins play a full half of football this Friday. We need him to be ready to come in at any time and win us a football game!

If either of these guys learns quick and the coaches put a plan together that works within their talents and limitations there is no reason why either couldn't win a game or two.  Tough spot but could happen. More likely would have success late than early.  Too early to know who is the #2 but we will know more tomorrow.  Agree about Strev.  Found a way.

But CGY beating us 3 times in like the first 8 weeks last season basically sealed our fate.

If your divisional rivals are getting wins, you gotta keep up.  And you can never afford to drop more than 50% of the games to each divisional rival.
Never go full Johnston!

And we finished with 10 wins with the 1st place team finishing with 13 wins. Nothing was ever out of reach because of our start. We just weren't good enough.
My wife is amazing!

And yet we finished in 4th. One win against the Stamps we finish in the top 3 possibly in 2nd since we swept the Lions.
