Quote from: markf on May 21, 2026, 01:41:39 PMI thought Corcoran made some tough catches and didn't drop many at all when he played last season. And blocked well.

Yeah he's got solid hands and seems willing to block. And for someone who should be option 4 or 5 on any passing down that's really all you need. Having said that, I think they can still find someone with a bit more potential. Corcoran is never going to become a guy defenses need to account for. He's a guy defenses want the ball to go to.

Hmmmm. I always wonder exactly what the reasoning for these kinds of moves. Did he see the writing on the wall so to speak. Is there some personal or medical situation that prevents him from practising?

He was hard pressed to make the roster at any level but this won't help his chances.

He was there but not practicing yesterday. Could be medical.

Yes but they usually do that if they want to add another player to the roster in the meantime. This is the last practice before they travel for the Rider game. Next week is pre season game 2 and then final cuts.

I'm not sure they will be dropping in more new players. Many rookies that play this week won't see game time in the final pre season game. For that matter, vets will be taking more and more practice reps next week.

Anyway. Any injury to a rookie in TC doesn't help his situation.

I wonder how many vets stay home for the 1st game this weekend. I think the pre season road teams have a slight reduction in how many can travel for the game. Regardless, some vets are nicked and some just won't need action this weekend. It's a make or break time for rookies.

They did the same with the previous 2 cuts Fletcher and Young, maybe prior to the announcement they meet with Walters to discuss their football future and give them a day to pack their bags and say goodbye to teammates. As for Horne maybe he was told he wasn't going to Saskatoon and reacted badly.

Is this the bad place?

O'Shea says he left the team.

He must have seen the writing on the wall and just decided to leave before he was cut.

Corcoran has looked very solid so far. He reminds me of Woli. He quietly goes about his business.

Looks like it, realistically his best shot was QB4 on the PR. And even that may be a stretch considering the Bombers don't always carry 4 QBs.

Corcoran is a high effort low ceiling guy, (sound familiar?)
IF Demski is hurt do we really want a re starting receiving core with him and Cobb?

Cobb is a decent Swiss army knife
Corcoran is likely a good backup that we don't know enough about yet
I like Cobb
Not enough sample size on the latter
I am comfortable with Cobb as a starter as needed

name a worse starting cdn in the league

However, Clercius seems to be making some plays in TC.  I haven't heard Corcoran's name even once, except for MOS saying 2nd year players are expected to improve.

There's room for all of them... on the PR...

O'Shea was praising Corcoran's effort the other day, so we know he's a hard worker. He also said he values a players desire to win over pure talent every time, this would explain a lot of his decisions.
