Blue Bombers Add Defensive Back

WINNIPEG, MB., March, 3, 2026 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American defensive back Jordan Taylor.

Taylor (5-10, 174, James Madison; born September 10, 2001, in Miami, FL.) joins the Bombers after signing in the NFL (2025), and a five-year collegiate career with James Madison (2024), and Tusculum (2020-2023).

Taylor signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft and participated in the club's rookie minicamp.

Prior to beginning his professional career, Taylor transferred to James Madison for the 2024 season, appearing in all 13 games with 10 starts. As a senior, he recorded 25 tackles (18 solo), along with five pass breakups.

Before joining James Madison, Taylor spent four seasons at Tusculum, appearing in 33 career games (27 starts) and totaling 91 tackles, six interceptions, eight tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 10 pass breakups.

Have you seen him play? What is it that gives you a good feeling?  His draft profile sounds pretty good.

Jordan Taylor:

an athletic, undrafted free agent (UDFA) defensive back out of James Madison (JMU) with high-level speed and impressive Pro Day results. Standing 5'10" and 174 lbs, he recorded a blistering 4.35–4.44 40-yard dash, 38.5" vertical, and 10'5" broad jump, showcasing elite testing numbers for a cornerback.

Skill Set: Known for his speed and ball skills, with 5 passes defended (PDs) in his tracked senior profile.

Taylor is considered a developmental cornerback prospect who relies on his speed to match up with wide receivers, having previously modeled his game after elite corners.

Signing as an undrafted player tells me he has some skills that previously the NFL seen.  Just a gut felling based on his bio.  That draft profile gives me more good vibes.

Speed, athletic and ball skills are a good staring point. If he can be coached, then his football IQ development could make him a good player.

Rookies always look good and we have about 11 newbies on the roster at the moment. Impossible to rank them at the moment. lol

I guess we wait for TC and we know the new starter will be the first guy who we hear can "flip his hips".

CFL DB's, with the much larger field and extra player need a slightly different skill set than NFLers.  How quickly a 4 downer adapts to those differences is the difference in making an AR.

Its like Shoen, an allstar in the CFL thanks to the waggle, but can't crack an NFL PR.  The little differences...
