Quote from: Blue In BC on May 24, 2026, 10:06:20 PMDavis Alexander may have suffered an injury in the 1st pre season action. Not good if true.

I watched that game and he was tight in the hammy and doing a slight limp-skip and hand-rub thing a few times.  Wasn't any contact of note, either.  Maybe had 1 tackle where a guy tried to smack that hammy, but I'm not sure he actually hit it, and he seemed to be sensitive to it even before that.

Is Alexander the next Schoen/Strev?  Body just won't take it and has to quit?  Is he good enough to become a non-mobile QB?  Is hammy a thing that can destroy a career like ACL can??  Surely he's had a ton of time to heal.

Not great for the league if he turns into a bust.  Their only backups are Crum/Morgan?  That's not a good recipe if DA is out for the first 7 weeks.

My impression was knee injury. Possibly just a twist rather than anything significant but it could limit his mobility early in the season. If he doesn't play in the last pre-season game that will be a bad indication.

Based on reading something or based on what you saw on the stream?  I definitely saw him checking out his hammy many times whilst trying to look like he wasn't checking out that hammy.  Putting his hand on it, etc.

I saw no indication of knee, although his limping certainly could hint at that as much as the hammy.

Funny thing is, if I'm him, I don't know what's worse: getting a new knee injury or having the ol' hammy act up again.

Based on reading something but that's not the best source always. We'll see what happens this week. Keep in mind it was a hamstring that caused him issues in 2025 wasn't it? If it's the same leg, it's a BIG problem / re-occurence.

The rubs & looks I saw in the MTL PS game he was looking at that same right hammy.

Woah. If he stays healthy it might end up being close to fair value but I think there's a chance they'll probably regret that also.

Good for Kenny, might lead to his release in a year or two but that's a chance worth taking.

good for him. TiCats might regret it, Kenny has worn tread on those tires now.
Season ticket holder since year 1 of the Reinbold era.

The stadium issue was always the stumbling block. If this individual is prepared to put at least some of his money into the infrastructure this may solve that problem. Regardless even if they had a plan, it would take until 2028 or 2029 to have the stadium built etc etc. That's better than never but it's still going to take some time.

Unless the construction financing is approved and they use a temporary stadium with some temp construction additions like Empire Stadium in 2010-2011 while the new stadium is built.

Rich contract, guessing its graduated, and that there is limited guaranteed money.

If he earns it, he earns it.  If he doesn't, the Cats have outs.

Does muddy the contract waters for other top receivers going forward, after things had finally settled a bit.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

For sure. Other than last year, he's been pretty banged up over the years. His playing style and body type don't exactly scream durability.

That's nuts. No reciever is worth that. Big contract extensions usually lead to : i) fall off in expected productivity or ii) injury, either way, its nuts. League is trying to remain solvent and teams doing this, perfect.
