Pickett will go somewhere for a lot of money, a good player but we don't need him
Bet he was due a bonus

Sayles while expensive, I would have considered

None at all.  We're committed to NAT SAM for the foreseeable future.  And Pickett isn't going to be the "QB of the <anything>".

Even if we were interested, no way we have that kind of FA $ for an IMP SAM!

Other teams will be jumping at him, though!
Never go full Johnston!

Uh, am I missing something?  Don't we need to enter the tamper period and actual FA before things like this happen?

Ti-Cats released him early to get a headstart on FA and avoid a bonus payment, just like Bombers released Kolankowski early and it worked out well in both cases.

Ah, so "early release" allows teams to do things pre-tamper/pre-FA?

But if the guy is due to be a FA but is NOT released the other teams have to wait for tamper/FA?

Yep seems to be the case, FA begins Feb. 10th.

Dear god, do the Ti-Cats have no clue what they're doing?

Hamilton Tiger-Cats promote Jarryd Baines to offensive co-odinator

Sir Blue and Gold

The coaches cap really sucks.

Kolankowski signs with Hamilton, as per CFL transactions page.

Logan released ahead of roster bonus due today. I didn't expect him to return but had no idea a bonus was coming due. Good luck to him with a chance to catch on elsewhere. Things just didn't work out here and hopefully Vaval is returning.

One game at a time.

Bit of a surprise, they need an alternative/backup to Vaval whether he comes back or not, and as far as I know they have not identified any suitable candidates unless they decided to elect Cobb, who is also a FA. Not an easy thing to replace a returner and unlikely to catch lightening in a bottle 2 seasons in a row using a newcomer.

Was a big fan of Logan and Mills ever since their rookie seasons in Calgary, could be Logan did not fit in with environment because he's shown great athletic ability in spurts in past seasons.

Logan was due a $10,000 bonus due today and would earn $110K in 2026. It's true we don't know whether Vaval will return although the Bomber management might have a better idea of whether he's expecting an NFL contract.

Every TC there are receivers and DB's that compete for a role as a returner on top of being a starter or back up on offence.

There are already many signed that have that skill set but whether it translates to the CFL is a TBD.

Hopefully Vaval returns but I'm not yet too concerned about the back up role. Of course that could change to a more significant issue if we hear he's not coming back for TC.

Has there been any update on Vaval? IIRC, he had tryouts with the Jets, Browns, and Saints back in early/mid-December.

I sure hope we see him back here in the spring.
