Maybe.  Maybe meh.  The Ozzie punters are kinda everywhere now.  And if we get in a bidding war with, say, HAM, we're probably talking an extra $10-$15k only... do we really care?

With Ted gone, I think HAM will cease to try to be Bombers Redux.  And rightly so: you want to try to emulate the 6th best CFL team from 2025?

Plus, their dude will probably be back, as 90% of CFL punters do...
Never go full Johnston!

Argos have hired former Bomber and CFL All Star Jovon Johnson as DB Coach.

Sure. It comes down to a proven situation versus unproven and any impact to SMS. I don't think this would be any sort of massive bidding war but we could see him look into the tampering window period before agreeing to a new contract.

At the moment we only have 2 global players on our roster. If there is any expectation that Munier Bailey will be on the AR then sticking with a global punter comes at the cost of an extra Canadian.

I'm not saying that is a bad situation but it overlaps decisions for roster spots. Last year for the most part we only had 1 global on the AR barring injuries to Canadian choices.

In general my preference is to only have 1 global on the AR and punter seems to be the most often and best used choice.

That's a lot to unpack. I'm ok with losing Sheehan and signing a rookie global but that comes with some risk. If we're going with a rookie kicker than I'd rather find a Canadian.

I guess the 1st question is does Munier-Bailey make the AR and what happens downstream on the roster. Overall I support the extra Canadian than 2 global players on the AR.

I laugh at the absurdity of the global draft with 2 rounds and having dedicated roster spots on the AR ( 1 ) and PR spots ( 2 ). Just from a math point of view the 2 we draft may make the PR by default. If we lose Sheehan, we may only have 3 global players by the end of TC and each will make part of the roster.

Re 2025 global draft: 11 of the 18 players drafted were either kickers or punters.  I wonder how many of them might still be available including the punter we drafted?

One game at a time.

HAM still has their GM spot open, I guess in honour of Ted?  Is Sunderland making those calls right now?
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.
