Go to 4 downs or more NFL rules ,I'll never watch again

I hate the new endzones and placement of the fg posts.  Pure crap.

Also, with the new rules, we have to pay for 2 playoff games with our season tickets up front? What is that? Friend told me about that at the Moose game tonight.  Awful.  TWO!

Nope nope nope.  GLad I went to a flex pack.

Yeah it's quite a scam... not to mention those sitting in the back of the end zones make their view even worse, but the club still has the audacity to raise ticket prices.

I'm in agreement with you on this. I hate all of the changes and would include the issue of 8 teams making the playoffs. That takes the interest level down significantly for me.

How can anyone truly "hate" the changes without having seen them?

Can't anyone be open minded anymore?

I think it's being done for two related reasons:

Immediate revenue growth which will lead to interest, which will more easily lead to 10 teams. The playoff model makes more sense with 10.

Attendance is down in many CFL cities. Revenue may be going up from other sources but that can't be a good thing. Several current stadiums need to be replaced.

I'm all for a 10th team but 8 out of 10 making the playoffs is still not a good ratio IMO.

It's fundamental changes to the game that take out many important current features. Missed FG returns and even punts will be impacted.

I'm not sure where K/O's will be done from in 2027. We may see many bounce out the back of the end zone which negates the rouge.

Changes to the end zone may mean less FG's are kicked due to needing to get closer. Will that result in more 3rd down gambles or more punts that don't land inside the end zone?

The NFL or USFL don't have the single point but it's not difficult to see what the end zone change will do.

There is no need to have an open mind when we can see the resultant change impact.

It's always up and down. League wide attendance is this is flat this year although revenue is wayyyyy up. Butts in seats is wayyy up in Edmonton. Way down in Ottawa. There are far more significant correlations to selling tickets than rule changes.

In my experience change is constant, inescapable and inevitable and the only thing one can really do is keep an open mind and have a positive attitude. The CFL has so many great things going for it right now also. We seem to be entering into an era of financial strength that couldn't even be imagined 15 years ago.

But you, and all the rest of you, keep doing you.

Play offs are the one change I can get behind. I see the immediate reason for it. More games = more profit. There is a direct reason for making the change.

I like how teams play more than one game to get to the Grey Cup.

I like the balance between keeping the East/West feel and re-seeding.

I believe it will lead to more competition late in the season - though I understand others feel the opposite will happen. Will probably depend on a few different variables.

Change happens to the game every year through discussions with stakeholders about making the game better based in precedent. No one has any issues with this.

This was obviously different. Came with no consultations. And the reasons for them are being intentionally obfuscated.

You keep doing you though.

Oh I will. And as a result of not being a big ol' stick on the mud, I'll be enjoying CFL football next year as a result. Will you?  ::)

Change is inevitable. Good changes are rare. These aren't good changes. I'll take that back if and only if they result in bringing in more fans, but that is a very long shot.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

We could have added more games by going back to a 2 game total point series ( home and home ) like we used to see. In the west it was a best of 3 series.
