And that's fine.  It is a radical and completely novel idea.  It would totally allow us to keep the 110 field and still get "more O/TDs".  (As would many other ideas I'm sure -- and I'd love to hear them.)

Too late anyhow.  Commish wants his NFL field.

Part of the reason for the shorter field was cropped end zones in a couple of cities. It would have been easier to modify / reduce some of the seating in those stadiums. Noting they can't fill those stadiums at the best of times.

However, that would move the FG posts back even further. That would make kicking FG's even less likely at the back of a 20 yard end zone.

The shorter field is a lesser issue of all the changes for me. The biggest is the moving the goal posts and what it does to the kicking game.

Watching this weeks games, there will be observations / analysis on how each instance would be impacted under the new concept. Whether an attempt is made or whether a return of some sort happens.

They haven't mentioned what happens for PAT's distance for kicking. Currently some are missed already.
One game at a time.

Ugh, not that again.  The EZ shortening takes care of MTL/TOR.  And even that could have been shortened by a much smaller 2-3Y to cover both aberrant stadiums.

The 100Y field has absolutely nothing to do with MTL/TOR and standardized (to Canadian spec) fields.  It's a red herring.

Good point.  This week on TSN should be wild.  Giving it some thought I'm pretty sure ALL the talking heads will be gung ho and just parrot the Commish talking points.  They'll all have their marching orders.  The Commish IS an ex-TSN guy, after all, and he's basically a TSN/Bell/Disney plant anyhow.  Everyone in bed together: I can already see myself fuming.  They'll probably have one guy play the role of devil's advocate, but that's it.  Maybe Forde.

They couldn't have had Dunigan spoiling that circle jerk party.  No siree.
