If the Jets get a win tonight, they'll finish with 84 points. That's easily the team's worst season in a decade, and in terms of overall point share, one of the worst since Jets 2.0 history began. (2015-16 takes the cake IIRC)

And when one takes into consideration what this team managed to achieve a year ago, this season's failure should serve as a pretty glaring wake-up call for the organization.

I really hope Cheveldayoff and co. are up to the task of getting things back on track.

What was the major change, last year to this year?

New GM?

New core players?

Oh wait...

I feel like we say that every year. But yes, it's true.

If we had any decent amount of buying power in the July FA market and could just overpay for a proven top C - even just a reliable one who's consistent - I feel like that would solve 80% of our problems. Then we can spread the wealth out a bit more and get more scoring outside our top line. Throw in a bounce-back year for Helle (doesn't have to be Vezina-good, but needs to be Helle-good) and we've got a >100 point regular season & guaranteed division playoff seed next year IMO.

Going into tonight. Win or lose, I think we still stay in 7th going into the lottery.

I don't think we got the lights out goaltending we got last year, that literally stole us games last year, not so this year. Also, lost some speed in Ehlers and our 'depth' scoring was down 30 goals from last year. So if you're letting more in than you did last year and not scoring as much as you did last year, you're going to lose more games and that's what happened.

If we had a regulation win, we would have slid to 8th.

That didn't happen though.

A number of Moose players on the ice tonight and it showed. It will be an interesting off season.

Saw Micheal Remis tweet about "What an ending for Ville Heinola's career as a Jet".  He's not wrong.  That last careless stick penalty does not bode well for him.  Not sure blaming being a healthy scratch causing mental health issues is the flex a pro hockey player should be making.  Honest, sure, but bad branding.

Koepke, though, there's a guy that must be resigned.  Energy line perfection.  He will get lots of offers, no doubt, if we don't nail him down.

I would like to have Comrie back, we should have sufficient cap to make him a very competitive offer.

Watched the final loss with a feeling of terrible disappointment
Felt we would take the Sharks, who played the night before.
Certainly had some great chances while giving up too many great chances to the Sharks.

Q.: anyone know why HellB wasn't in net last night
In fact, I know I saw no camera grab of him at all
He was our saviour countless times, who had a tough year.
To me it's a head scratcher why .Com went in back to back

Why would you put Helle in for a meaningless game? I expected an AHL goalie in there.

Helle played in like, 21 of the final 23 games coming off of an injury in a condensed schedule. They run him into the ground every year and he never looks the same during play-offs. No reason to trot him out there.
