Chevy may be listening because that's his job, but I don't think other teams value Helle the way the Jets do. I can't imagine teams offering enough to convince the Jets to move on.

Helle does have a NMC, so any trade has to be an upgrade for him to accept it, and upgrades might not have assets they want to give up, and getting 1st rounders from a contender that adds Helle are going to be late first rounders, not ever a generational player.

So, much as I thought this was going to happen earlier, kudos for Chevy for not pulling the trigger.  If we had the heir apparent, its a consideration.  If were were in full rebuild, its a definite must move.

But we are in a retool, with prospects maturing, and a top notch top line, top pair D and tender.

4 first rounders for Tkachuk?  He does bring a lot, but that's an awful lot, although they are going to be late first rounders. And only 2 years term to UFA?

Can Chevy attract a Jenner, Haula or Bleuger in FA?  Not the flashiest of moves, but fills that 2C hole for now, let the kids try and steal that brass ring.

Addressing the second line issues has to be a priority, if not the top priority of the offseason, regardless of whatever rumours are surrounding the team's starting netminder.

There's nothing on the FA market that can make a difference and trades will be almost impossible. I really dont think there's anyway to address this unless we do it through the draft.

A stopgap by way of free agency or trade is possible, and it's not like team could do any worse by trying to acquire a 2C in that way. The Jets will likely have to overpay in this scenario, though. The cap space is there.

The draft and develop route hasn't worked out the last decade or so with regard to rounding out the top 6, and I don't think the organization can afford to wait and see on that front. The fanbase certainly won't have the patience.

Cheveldayoff needs some redemption after his abysmal off-season a year ago. And if he isn't up to the task, maybe it's time to consider finding his replacement.

An interesting name would be Zach Benson. Smallish forward that plays with grit. He's an RFA, but is looking for a bigger roll. The Buffalo has limited cap space. Trade one of our prospects, and sign Benson as one of the piece of our revamped 2nd. line.

Agree with you. Chevy need to pull off another PLD trade. We ended up with GV13 and AI9, and have them signed. 

CP91 is an RFA and might be playing hard ball. I would have no problem trading him. He's has no grit to his game, and is slow. Rosen is another RFA, kid showed some upside, but isn't a top 6 forward at this point.

Jets have $21,056,668 in cap space. NN62 is on his last year at $4M. CP91 RFA, and we have the #8 pick. Make something happen Chevy.

You'd really want him in a Jets uniform?? He plays too greasy for my liking, we don't need any D bag annoying rats in our lineup, get someone with skill and plays with integrity.
