Sure we do. Pick #8 for McT, and we have our #2 C until 2031 at $7M per.

If teams were willing to give up a 2C for #8 it would already be gone.

But the Ducks are a playoff team who want to add, they're trading picks for assets not assets for picks.

And if you do want a calibre player. Especially one with term, the price is a pick, a player, and a prospect to start. And there's where we come up short.

Getting McTavish would help, in my opinion

Certainly HellB's name is floating around and pay back might help the reload vs stagnation.

Chevy, with Chipman no doubt, has to be busy dreaming up winning scenarios for the upcoming Draft

It was cool that Toews was a Jet for a year, even if the season was forgettable. Made for a storyline at least.

Silver lining is that it doesn't create any "loyalty" questions if he wanted to come back and play here longer and we'd feel obligated to pay big dollars again for over-the-hill performance. We can move on now and focus on developing prospects and filling holes with higher production players.
