Former first overall Global pick LB Eteva Mauga-Clements out for Edmonton Elks against Ottawa
By 3Down Staff -July 5, 2025

The Edmonton Elks have made only minor changes to their roster depth ahead of Sunday's meeting with the Ottawa Redblacks.

The most notable absence is Global linebacker Eteva Mauga-Clements, who was placed on the one-game injured list with a knee issue. The native of American Samoa was drafted first overall in the 2024 CFL Global Draft and has recorded 11 special teams tackles in 20 career games, including three so far this season.

Rookie defensive lineman Tomari Fox will spend time on the six-game injured list due to a serious ankle injury suffered last week. Backup receiver Binjimen Victor and Canadian linebacker Josiah Schakel have both been demoted to the practice roster.

Former first-round CFL Draft pick Francis Bemiy will make his debut on the Elks' defensive line as a result of the changes, while veteran Canadian receiver Tyson Middlemost and rookie American linebacker Brock Mogensen will suit up for special teams depth. Former Georgia standout Kearis Jackson will dress in place of Victor as the extra American receiver.

The Edmonton Elks (0-3) will host the Ottawa Redblacks (1-3) at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday, July 6 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The weather forecast calls for a high of 18 degrees with a 40 percent chance of showers.

The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and on CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on TSN 1200 in Ottawa and 880 CHED in Edmonton.

Ottawa Redblacks without leading receiver Bralon Addison vs Elks
By 3Down Staff -July 5, 2025

The Ottawa Redblacks will have starting quarterback Dru Brown back in the lineup when they face the Edmonton Elks on Sunday, but they'll be without their leading receiver.

Veteran Bralon Addison has been placed on the one-game injured list after missing every practice this week with a shoulder issue. The 31-year-old has caught 21 passes for a team-high 220 yards and a touchdown through four games this season.

Second-year receiver Andre Miller has been activated off the practice roster to fill the starting role. He played six games last season and recorded 15 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns.

Also joining the starting lineup this week is rookie right tackle Parker Moorer, who takes over for the recently released Darta Lee. Quarterback Tyrie Adams was also demoted to the practice roster due to Brown's highly anticipated return.

Defensively, the team will also get a boost from the return of field cornerback Adrian Frye and depth contributor Bennett Williams after one-week absences. Rookie Gavin Heslop (quad) will go on the one-game injured list after blocking a punt last week, while Alijah McGhee has been sent down to the practice roster.

The Ottawa Redblacks (1-3) will visit the Edmonton Elks (0-3) at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday, July 6 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m.

I Hope Ottawa coaches can figure out a way to prevent Dru from being injured again.

No plays that require pass blocking?

Yeah, I kinda doubt that. I'm expecting Dru to light it up tonight even without Addison.
Go Bombers!

I'm not sure Ottawa came to play tonight.
Go Bombers!

Well oiled machine!

They need new coaching, they have some good players.

J5V

Oh man, that looked bad. Stomach-turning to see his leg get twisted like that in slow motion. Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery to Devonte Dedmon.

Suitor nattering away as Pimpleton rips off a 97 yard return. At least Dustin Nielson was paying attention and called the great return. Suitor just comments on the state of the game after everything is over. He is so depressing to listen to. Rarely says anything insightful. Forde and Smith were so much better last night.
Go Bombers!

Suitor is actually depressing. Flat delivery, boring, and dull. Irritating.

I've noticed lately Dustin actually correcting him.

I would pay extra, to have him gone.

Me too. Is he even watching this game? He doesn't seem to know what's going on.
Go Bombers!

I'd take Andre Proulx over Glen Suitor. lol
Go Bombers!

J5V

Good grief! Suitor says Rankin ran for 40 yards on his TD run and Nielson has to correct him and tell him it was 72 yards.
Go Bombers!

been a fun watch.

Countdown to Dyce firing is on I think.

Redblacks receivers could not get open for some reason.... Either bad route running, or great d coverage or both

Eugene Lewis seems uninterested

Why did they bench ford twice?

Faj looked old.

Thought I recognized the hair... Aaron Grymes is elks db coach
