Toronto Argonauts without running back Miyan Williams vs. Ticats
By 3Down Staff -July 3, 2025

The Toronto Argonauts will be rolling over much of the same roster from their first victory into this week's rivalry clash with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, with one notable exception.

Rookie American running back Miyan Williams has been placed on the one-game injured list after missing practice all week with a head injury. The 23-year-old Ohio State product has carried the ball 21 times for 102 yards in four games, adding 16 catches for 90 yards.

With fellow running back Deonta McMahon continuing his stint on the injured list due to a knee issue, veteran Kevin Brown is set to take over in the backfield. Originally cut in training camp, the 28-year-old has logged 10 carries for 15 yards in two games since returning, with three receptions for 21 yards.

Brown spent the first three years of his CFL career with the Edmonton Elks, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark in 2023, only to be replaced and cut a year later. He has rushed for 2,164 yards and five touchdowns on 371 carries, while catching 77 passes for 557 yards and another major in 39 games played.

Joining Brown in the backfield will be fellow American Khalan Laborn, who was signed by the team on Wednesday. The five-foot-eleven, 212-pound ball-carrier has had four previous CFL stints as a member of the Edmonton Elks, Argonauts, Ottawa Redblacks, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. In 2024, he dressed for six regular-season games with Ottawa, rushing 58 times for 310 yards, catching 23 passes for 152 yards, and scoring one touchdown.

The Toronto Argonauts (1-3) will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-2) at BMO Field on Friday, July 4 with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT. The weather forecast calls for temperatures of 22 degrees, mostly sunny conditions, and minimal wind.

The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and on CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on the Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton and TSN 1050 in Toronto.

Running back Greg Bell listed as game-time decision for Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Argos
By 3Down Staff -July 3, 2025

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will have a decision to make at running back ahead of Friday's clash with the Toronto Argonauts.

Feature back Greg Bell could make his return to action after missing last week with a calf injury, but remains a game-time decision despite practicing fully all week. The 27-year-old started the first two games of the season, rushing 13 times for 60 yards and catching 12 passes for 76 yards. In eight games as a rookie in 2024, he ran 94 times for 625 yards and six touchdowns, while recording 29 receptions for 230 yards and another major.

If Bell is able to go, American rookie Treshaun Ward will return to the practice roster after catching three passes for 15 yards in his debut. Canadian veteran Johnny Augustine remains listed as the team's starter after rushing 15 times for 49 yards and catching three passes for 63 yards last week.

Canadian receiver Brendan O'Leary-Orange will return to the lineup in a depth role after recovering from a rib cage injury suffered in the season-opener, where he caught five passes for 55 yards. Tyler Ternowski will get the start ahead of him, while Keaton Bruggeling returns to the practice squad.

Canadian defensive back Robert Panabaker will also return from a hamstring issue. Canadian offensive lineman Jakub Szott will be a healthy scratch.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-2) will visit the Toronto Argonauts (1-3) at BMO Field on Friday, July 4 with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.

Lawler with 2 TDs already in the first quarter. I guess he's pretty good.

Weird, except for the WDF he wasn't making any plays like that for us last year.

HAM looks like they have absolutely nothing else planned today except BLM to Kenny.  Doesn't TOR know you have to double cover Kenny?  This is rocket science?

Grant hurt again?  He didn't return the last 2-3 kicks

I think it's fair to suggest that both Calgary and Hamilton are (much) improved from last season.

What's wrong with the Argos? They look completely discombobulated.

You're going to have to change your opinion on Tyer Ternowski soon, he's one of those Natl. players that seems to improve his game with every season he plays, much like Mitch Picton in Sask.  He might never be a starter but he could have a long career as a versatile utility player with the right passport.

Ya, I'm happy for him getting some plays.  I have no beef with him.  I literally just picked the first NAT starter (he was starting last year) who was pretty useless for my examples on NAT "placeholders".

I'll just have to pick another one to pick on, LOL.  However, Ternowski only got that TD because no one thought he could be a target, and Kenny took all the coverage.  Brilliant play scheme, actually.  Why don't we do that with Corcoran??  Or heck, even Sterns at this point.

Reminds me of all the Brissett TDs in the GC.  NAT placeholder who did nothing all year and then boom, you use him for all the TDs in the big game.  I don't know why we can't ever do this.

This game is looking for TOR like last night's did for us.  TOR was playing sound ball to start then HAM just blows it all up.

And now TOR has given up, has zero morale and momo.  Didn't even try on that last TD.

Also, HAM OL is looking amazing tonight.  What's up with that.  TOR isn't getting anywhere near BLM (except once).  He has all night to pick them apart and he's actually being accurate for once.

Grant with the electrifying punt return for the TD. He's baaaaack!
