Except we kept him on our 1 game IR so he's protected. OTOH he might be trade bait but I think we want to keep him and I don't know what we'd want in return anyway.

I certainly wouldn't uproot my family for a PR spot for a year.
My wife is amazing!

You're right, hard to get used to uninjured players riding the 1 game for more than a game without an obvious exit strategy, you almost have to hope for a swath of injuries to make room for them. I wonder if Walters calculated the probability of injuries occurring vs the cost of paying full salaries till injuries occur.

Nah, rent a room somewhere like so many other players.  It may be a short trip.  CGY could cut him pretty fast.  I can't see them paying him more than a token signing bonus ($10-$20k).

Quote from: gobombersgo on June 22, 2025, 10:10:50 PMCalgary's next game is against the Bombers as they have a bye this week.

I can't see him suiting up after 1 week of practice.

To me this smacks of "buying the book", like TOR has done to us so many times just to cut a guy a month later.  No one knows our D like Biggie.  Sign him with little bonus, pay him a month or 2, and immediately debrief him of all knowledge.

I think CGY sees their success and legit thinks they have a good GC shot this year.  We're their main impediment.  Getting the skinny on your main rival is a great way to get the slight edge to put you over the top.

I know many think "tinfoil", but the tell is if they never dress the player, or maybe give them 1-2 games (think Agudosi).

Plus, never hurts to have HOF Biggie-level MLB as injury depth on your PR!  Heck, make him your de facto asst LB coach and see what he's got there.

I think the official rule is you don't have to until they dress for the AR!

Yup. Tinfoil idea.

You say that anytime another team signs an ex Bomber. You think DC's on other teams don't know what to expect from our offence particularly when Oliveria is healthy.

I think most posters can predict what play we are running by field position, game situation and how we line up. Bombers can be very predictable but knowing what we're going to do and stopping it are not the same.

Stamps lost their MLB so signing an experienced player like Bighill is not a bad idea in the short term. That's a 1 + 1 = 2 situation.

Did you even notice that the Stamps gave up over 200 yards rushing against the Redblacks?

Stamps go through a different MLB every year, last season it was Awe, who was it this year?

Don't be surprised if Biggie ends up on their coaching staff next season, on a team starting over Dickie unlikely to play an ancient MLB at the heart of his defence.
