SSK OC/Trevor doing strategic things again.  Last week they threw all to strong side until 4th Q, then they went 90% to Johnson.  This week they throw to weak side Meyers all night, and mostly ignore Johnson and the strong side.

What this tells me is they'll set up a favorite side / REC in each game, setting up the opponent to scheme for the wrong thing, then target the forgotten guy.  (Ask me how I know: fantasy last week: Meyers, fantasy this week: Johnson, LOL.)

The moral of the story is don't fixate on the #1 REC from last week.  In fact, I'd "ignore" the big guy last week, and guess who their main target will be this time.

SSK run game vastly improved from '24.  AH33 (and Yoshi) making a massive difference.  And so far Oullette more durable than Brady!

And SSK committing a lot more to the run.  Maybe even more so than WPG, which is shocking.

Need to be sound stopping those run explosions and doing our thing of keeping most runs to 3-5Y.

TOR's D was horrible.  Really bad.  TOR's OL was also bad.  A far cry from the team that beat us in the GC.

Dinwiddie is the next Kavis Reed.  Says he's going to fire someone.  Says his team took more penalty yards than they had O yards.  Confirmed my spotting of the IB on the winning KR TD.

You know who's sitting back rubbing their hands?  MTL.  They are the big winner here.  It's gonna be hard to get 3 games back compared to MTL later in the season.

Game 1 in TOR had decent attendance numbers (I'm remembering 14k?) for TOR.  But this game the stands were more empty than EDM!

Math: It appeared the upper level was completely closed.  BMO is 28k capacity.  Figure 18k lower, 10k upper.  So 18k area was open.  It looked like maybe every 10th seat had someone.  That's 1.8k attendance?

How on earth are they reporting 14k-ish attendance when quick eyeball math hints 1.8k, or if you bright-side it and say every 5th seat had someone, that's 3.6k?

Are they giving away 10k tickets, where no one at all shows up with them, and calling it 14k?

CFL needs 2 new stats:

1) Actual showed-up attendance (the computers can easily tell them how many scanned in the gates)

2) Paid seats: excluding giveaways or ultra-cheap (like $1-$5/ticket) near-giveaways.

Dinwiddie just chucking guys under the bus after this game. Said someone was getting fired, talked about one of his guards only being 280 lbs and he "doesn't know what he did all season". Very much the anti-MOS.
My wife is amazing!

I was just settling in expecting OT. Toronto had quite the comeback only to screw up royally. Only 11 on their K/O team in a critical situation.

So many penalties that were after the play and selfish. Yeah I think Dinwiddie just might cut someone outright. Argos are currently horrible and getting better anytime soon is debatable.

12 players on their 1 game IR but most were "DNP" this week so no help on the near horizon.

A serious injury even worse when the result of an illegal block. I didn't see it so I'm not sure how blatant is was but it's very unfortunate. I hope George is able to recover quickly.

Pretty exciting game. Argos lost it on two plays. The kick return TD & failing to get a TD at the end of the first half. Other than that, they played the Riders pretty even. If Toronto is really that bad, then the Riders are too.

Wow! Toronto is lucky to field a team! They have a lot of crazy injuries. Arbuckle! A chance to earn a job, and he is terrible.  How did they manage to beat the Bombers in the Grey Cup?
What a poor job the Bombers did on defense last year.

Sask looks well coached, and the game proved it.  Now bring on a team with their number one guys, not missing ten former starters. Fun game to watch.

I hope everybody sees the closeup of the look of astonishment on the face of the Sask holder after the missed  easy field goal by lauther.

That was top level camera work and anticipation by TSN.

It'll be a meme sometime today, and will be used for years.

I think it was a "don't you dare blame that on me" look.

Dinwiddie is maaaad:

"I've never really got after those guys, this is the first time I've had to after a game. Pretty embarrassed by it. I thought it was selfish play, selfish penalties," Dinwiddie said after the game with fans at the BMO club watching. "I told those guys, 'Someone's going home tomorrow.' Heads are rolling. I ain't putting up with that stuff no more.
"I think that might open up some eyes. We gotta come and do the work. These guys are getting paid, this is their job. They need to come here with some purpose. It's coaches as well. It's not a good atmosphere right now. We'll get it fixed. We're men and we're pros, we get paid to do this, but I'm not happy right now."

For me, it was a straight pull by Lauther.  He is a streaky kicker and they do not know what they will get from him game to game.
