If anyone hears of any Canadians being drafted or signed post draft as UDFA's, this might be a spot to comment. The NFL draft takes forever. As far as I could tell only 2 QB's were drafted in the 1st round. I did find that a bit unusual.

Only 5 QB's taken by the end of round 3.  Rourke not drafted yet.

Tennessee Titans have drafted WR Elic Ayomanor at 136 (R4-P34). Went to Stanford, from Medicine Hat.

Kurtis Rourke to the San Fran 49ers. Pick 227 I thought he'd be going higher. Not sure what this says for his chances to make the roster.

DL, Harris and Shand sign UDFA contracts. QB Elsgerma invited to rookie camps but waiting for an UDFA contract.

Probably hear about a few more Canadians getting a chance to sign UDFA deals. Does anyone have any idea on what the success rate of making a roster for UDFA's?  It can't be great but I understand why any player would be interested to compete.

How many of our most promising hoggies got stolen drafted by the NFL this year?  I think that's one of the areas that hurts the CFL the most.
Never go full Rider!

Damien Alford and Devin Veresuk sign rookie mini camp deals.

Comment on 3rd down that very few Canadian prospects signed UDFA deals and only a few got mini camp invites. That may raise the interest in the CFL draft for those players.

Considering the 49ers current starting QB is also a 7th round draft pick probably not much.

That was more fluke than knowledge in his pick.  I think during the draft the broadcasters mentioned QB's selected after the 4th round have had nearly zero success in the NFL.

Lol okay. Google a guy named Tom Brady. Fluke too, probably.

They literally said there was nearly zero, not zero, which is factually true.

There aren't many, but if you're going to make the statement, I mean, probably best quarterback to ever play was a 6th round pick.

And consider, Rourke was drafted by an NFL team currently paying a 7th round pick $5.3M  to start this season.

Sooooo... two pretty big cavets to "don't worry he's going nowhere in the NFL cause he's after round 4"

Finally,  he very likely would have been drafted higher had he not been so hurt last year and doing pretty serious rehab right now.

There are probably 100's in the last 30 years that tanked for every one that didn't. That's the point.

$5.3M is almost chump change in the NFL. Didn't Russell Wilson just get $21M guaranteed this week?

Yes but they're not going to let him play out his contract I don't think.

5.3M is just the final year of his rookie deal - most sources expect him to land a pretty significant extension.

If he doesn't though for some reason, that only makes it more likely Rourke has a bit of a shot, no?

Zero chance he makes their roster. Zero.

Not sure but he might stick out 2025 waiting for other offers even if they are for being on a PR. His brother earned some cash doing that but he had CFL experience that Kurtis doesn't.

He probably gets drafted tomorrow but by which team and which round?
